Perhaps he did so, because they didn't want ANOTHER active Bushie cronie indicted. At least when he is indicted now, it will be while not in active capacity for the Administration.

Libs have been trying to find something on Rove since he arrived in DC. Nothing. He's clean and is leaving at a time convenient to him. I can hear the liberals fuming from all the way over here in Portugal.
This is just one of the many exoduses as we approach the end of the 8 yr Bush Presidency. Just like the last game of a football season, you pull the seniors out early so they can draw applause from the appreciative crowd.

Rove's departure only further cements Bushies stature as a lame duck. The funny thing is even the Repubs are saying that Rove did nothing but move the party backwards. Social Security reform? He lead that up - failed. Immigration - again, he headed that up - failed. Bringing a solid base of GOP to Congress after 70 years - failed.
