beautiful place, what is the cost of living over there?

A little more than here (well, I live in CheapTown, USA though). If you want to live like an American over there (american drinks, food, house, car, etc...) you will go broke. If you drive their cars, eat their food and drinks...you can be ok. They also pay a lot more for good jobs there.

She is a school teacher working full-time (20 hours a week at the most) and at her 1st year teaching she makes around $60k.

20 hours a week is full time? Heck, I'll take three jobs! :)

Nice pic B-fold......I love seeing members in their natural habitat!
:)
Those shoes are extra sharp! Kudos!

Wow, a blonde Nefi! :) You two look awesome. I am extremely happy for you. You deserve the best, and it looks like you're getting it. :)

Looks like a good time. They just need to up the size of those beer cups though. Now where are the pics of the greek girls at that gym?

He he...I thought that it might be 'slightly' rude to carry my camera in the gym and take close up pics of the women there...lol.

B_fold, was this in Larnaca or Nicosia? I was there on a business trip and loved it. Got to go across the UN no man's land into Turkish territory.

From what I saw, the Greeks got the better deal on that one.

Both you and your girl look awesome. Congrats!

Nice pics. Looks chilli there tho. how warm does it get in the summer there?

When I got there it was in the 60's (it was snowing in Boston when I left) and the next week they got near 4' of snow in the mountains and it was 40 or so and windy for a week. The next week it was around 80, sunny, windy, and 40% humidity. The week after it got cold again, then sunny and warm again.

Summers are HOT. It stays around 100 degrees from April to November...10 months of Summer, 2 months of Winter.

looks like he's having a Royale with cheese in one of those pics.

I had a Royal Deluxe actually :) It was pretty good, a little different from here. They also had a Chicken Burger (like a Chicken Sandwich) and a Greek burger type of thing in a pita.

One McDonald's I went it has all sorts of US music icons on the wall. Dean, Monroe, Elvis, Buddy Holly, etc... They even had a poster on the wall of Uncle Sam saing "We want YOU!". Pretty interesting.

Our place is in Limassol but we stayed one weekend in Paphos, one in Larnaca, and visited Nicosia (Lefkosia). It was interesting to see the big Turkish Cypriot flag in that mountain (even if it isn't a recognized flag). Nefi works for the government so we went to Nicosia/Lefkosia one day for a meeting there in the State Building (so to speak).

As far as what the Greeks got...the Turkish side of the island has not changed since 1974 when the Greeks left. They have so little support from Turkey (except the army) it isn't even funny. So many ghost towns there...it is crazy. Ghost towns on the Sea...crazy.

Remember that the Turkish Cypriots lost their land too...they lived among each other till Turkey came in and took both people's lands.

Thanks for the compliment...she sure is beautiful for me. I probably don't deserve her :)

Just tell them it is an old scottish custom that you need to fufill for a friend, next time you go.

That's awesome that you were treated so well over there and that you had such a great time. How is it adjusting to being back here?

Yes, I remember that huge flag painted on the mountain. It was like a knife in the back to all the Greek Cypriots.

And you are right about Turkish Nicosia, it was like I was in Berlin during the Cold War. One side was prosperous, the other was in a depression.

And what do you mean that you don't deserve her? Don't think like that man, it's not healthy. I would give my left nut to be in your shoes.

Next time I'm there...I'll go to the beaches (where clothes are optional) and take lots of pics for you :)

I'm glad to be back in my home and with my dogs...and drinking lots of milk every day...but I miss life there too and I miss Nefi A LOT!!! I'm just ready to get my life moving.

This one looks like it was photoshop altered due to the difference in height..
Great pics of the coast..

No Photoshop... :)

Funny though, I never feel big around her and she never feels small around me. When we walk, my arm fits perfectly around her neck/shoulders and our hands fit perfectly. Her hand just fits right inside of mine, everywhere we go...all the time.

I'm halfway joking. She has done so much in her life...it amazes me.

Look at her, she is just drop dead beautiful.

Where she falls I have exactly what she needs to be picked up...and we never even know that we are helping the other person. We just HAVE to make it together...I believe that it is just meant to be.

Love doesn't have to be logical or easy. Sometimes you just fit with that certain person and that is all you need. But I won't get sappy. lol. You two have what it takes to make it work. One day, hopefully, I'll be able to do the same.

Sweet thanks man.

It is good that you are back and getting into you training and stuff again. It is hard to start life moving when you are ready for it to settle down already. Nothing wrong with missing her she seems like a really great person and you are both lucky to have each other.
