Just saw,"We were Soldiers"...

Mel Gibson is a very underrated actor in my opinion.
I am counting down the days until his next film sitting on the directors chais; "Passion."
It tells the story of the last days of Jesus. The film is spoken only in Latin and Aramaic, WITH NO SUBTITLES.
Apparently, it is also one of the most graphic movies in history.

Havent' watched we were soldiers yet. And I own the movie. Hard to watch those kinds of movies when you are part of the military.

I got all choked up explaining to my boys about the soldiers who died in Blackhawk down and how their kids would never get to see their dads again. It really hit home on my 6 year old and 12 year old. They both understood what I was saying and got all teary eyed when they realized I could be one of those soldiers who died at any time.

Dont' speak aramaic or latin, so I guess I'll have to rely on the graphics.

When does that come out?

This has got to be a statement. I don't see how not being able to understand the words could not hurt sales.

I'll see it for sure. Such a fascinating story.

I think it may come out this Christmas. Mel said that he wants the visuals to tell the story, and supposedly he has everything so authentic it isnt even funny.

Here is one of the pictures I found from the set:

The producers releasing it obviously arent too happy, but hes Mel Gibson, so you cant really say no.

He is probably one of the most devout Catholics in the world. The only reason he calls Australia his full-time home is because it is one of the only places in the world that still performs the church mass in Latin (how the standard was prior to the Second Vatican Council in the 1960s). He has just started to build a church near his home in Malibu that will follow this program as well.
He despises modern Christianity, saying that the Second Vatican Council has resulted in dwindling numbers in the church and pedophilia in the clergy.
(If you dont know what I mean by the 2nd Vatican Council, it was the 2nd time in history when all the Bishops of the world met in Rome to discuss how to remedy the church and bring it more into the mainstream in order to capture a larger audience).

Its not Mel Gibson or Nam,

But "Saving Private Ryan" is a helluva flick. If you dont cry at the end where he's standing there with his family at Tom Hanks grave site, then there is something wrong with you.

Saving Private Ryan is, in my opinion, the best movie ever made.
