Last week my back felt tight and I had to go easy, 225x8x3. Today I worked up to 315 and got 5 reps no problem. I coulda gotten six if I was going bonzai.

I'm getting back to where I was when I could pull 405. I can't wait to go for it again.

good work bruh...i hear ya on the back thing..working my way back up as well and working on some form issues as well!!!

nice work bro. keep pulling. i think that you should start training heavy. start going for singles. do singles and keep upping the weight until you can't go up any more.

IMO when it comes to deadlift training (if one is desiring a 1RM) i do not feel that it is necessary to work reps. many times (over 95% of the time) after each rep, you are not back to your ideal starting position. unless you take a second to reset yourself, and set your marks, you could end up hurting yourself by pulling from an undesirable postion. also, when it comes to deads, you are moving a dead weight (hence the name, deadlift) as opposed to squats and bench press where you have to reverse the direction of the weight. since the only part of the deadlift that you are concerned with is the pulling of the weight off the floor, there is no need for reversal strength. since there is no need for reversal strength, is there a need for working reps on the deadlift? IMO the answer is no.

Have to agree with illuminati on that.

I can do lighter stiff-legged deads for reps of 10-15, but if I'm gonna use some decent weight I have to do singles. If I can do 6 singles with the weight for 2 workouts in a row, then I go up with the weight.

I rep all my deadlifts, i just don't see why deads have to be trained any differently from other muscles. I like to focus on the negative on the deads and reset the form every few reps as necessary. I seldom go below 6 reps and usually hover around the 10 rep range. I just like to rep deads and i hate singles, i don't see the point unless you're a competitor. That being said i like to superset my dead lift sets with light bent over rows to really burn the back out. Works like a charm for me.
