Last year I did everything so fast, i am planning on doing the diet phase a bit slower with hopes of maintaining muscle and losing fat. I had to take my quads down so much last year that it took a toll on my upper body. If i didn't have these massive legs, id be ok just with diet and minimal cardio but eh, my legs grow like weeds and they stick.
I am still not up to my heavy weight of last year, I thinks its all a mindset though, FEH! Im not too squishy, yet I just don't like the way im looking right now. I need to destroy all the mirrors in my house. LOL
Last year, doing Figure i was told I was too lean, but I didn't care. it was my first comp and i wanted to push my body to see where i could go. I came in really lean i'd wager below 9% at my leanest. I want to go leaner for BB and then bring it back up for the two figure comps im doing.

I think you are spot on and need to go up more slowly eating only clean proteins. Filter your water, and also boil your chicken in it.
I once went to 223 @ 9% (gained 13 in two weeks) - I felt like crap.
Personally, I prefer the fitness look over the bb look on women, but thats just me![]()

I'd done alot of core work when i was doing my powerlifting, heavy weights and low reps, i also did band work for my abs, where you wrap the band around your ankles and have someone stand about 3' away and you get on a bench and do resistance work by pulling your legs into your chest using the abs. I'm doing all the above now, seems 'the judges said' i needed thicker abs for my first complol
Gotta give them what they want! Though for figure they have no idea what they actually want.
i only did abs 1x every week, but not as heavy, this year im doing them the same but heavier. I work them like every other muscle and allow them to grow.
