My doctor told me NEVER donate old shoes. Here is why:
1. foot fungus
2. the persons foot is NEVER shapes like yours and therefore can be unhealthy.
I´ve donated old shoes if they were still in decent shape. If shoes are really old....I think it´s the best to toss them. So I was astonished that my neighbour blamed me. She said that the donation bag is the right choice for all my old shoes. I can´t believe this  . I don´t think that homeless people have a need for my worn-down outdated puppies  . I know Nike recycle old running shoes. They grind them up to make new running shoe outsoles. Recycling is very important!!! but I think my old leather boots belong into the litter bag for non-recycable waste like food scraps, dirt, tissues..... My neighbour is a recycling nut but I think this time she is wrong. So I need your advice girl!
Donate these 15yrs old boots or put them into the litter bag? Recycable or non-recycable waste ?

I say donate them and let those peeps sort it out.

What could it hurt?

I agree. I donate just about everything (not underwear though, lol). If the company thinks it is inappropriate for re-sale or to donate - they will trash it. I think it is better to assume someone can use it - you just never know.

Actually, donation companies are beginning not to take stuff like that as their expenses to trash the stuff (especially for a NON-profit) can be overwhelming......Goodwill around here is now refusing donations as they are just trash....

So by donating crappy stuff - you're not really doing anyone any good.....
