Joint pain please give input

I started lifting again about 2 weeks ago. Its been about 2 months since my motorcycle accident. I am lifting extremely light. I am experienceing pretty constant pain in my elbows after doing very light curls ( sharp pain). I took my second shot of Cyp and Deca last Fri. ( I know I should've waited untill I was recovered but I figured it will help) I am sure the deca will help when it kicks in, but I know it will take awhile. Is there anything else you guys can recommend besides the glucosamine that I am taking. (what dose do most take of the gluco??) I also have some celebrex laying around but I don't like taking things unless I think it will be benificial. Anyone use Celebrex?? Or does anyone have any other substance they can recommend to help joints that is proven to work? Any input is greatly appreciated......

Avoid anti-inflamatories. If you have injuries in yor elbows due to the accident you are just going to have to let them heal. Anti-inflamatories slow this process down at the expense of reduced pain. If you must use something for pain use tylenol. If the elbows havent healed since your accident its likely due to the anti-inflamatory meds the docs have had you on for other things.

I take 1 celebrex every day. It sure helps me.
I could also inject a ton of lydocain into your chest, cut you open and spread your ribs and you wouldnt feel a thing, but just because you dont feel pain must mean everything is OK....I dont kny why I even waste my time.

I take MSM/Glucosamine. Pretty cheap to buy, got mine at GNC, and worth a shot. Although I didn't have bad pain, it did help.
I figured if it was good enough to help old people's joints, it would damn sure work on a strappin young buck like myself:fro:

Listen to zyg i was gona ge taniinflamatories an dkeep workin trhu it had i done so i would probibaly be ou tp[ermanently about now and on nubain....look into prolotherapy....dmso, and glucosamine with CSA..worked for me and rest a little and train the muscle dont jsut rest it though..train it with 5 lbs or whatever to get the blood in there TO INFLAMATE it not antiinflamate it..zyg will tel you and he is a very knowlegable bro BLOOD HEALS YOUR INJURIES MAKES THEM HEAL..no blood flow= no healing .PERIOD

I had surgery last year for my arthritic shoulder. The celebrex takes care of any inflammation/soreness caused by the arthritis. Say what you want, I just know that I feel much, much better taking it than doing without. I guess we just agree that we disagree. Nothing wrong with that. Don't get so upset just because we have a difference of opinion.

Zyg point well taken........ Terminator MSM?? not familiar witht hat I don't think....

Im sorry, I just get a little upset on how the population follows Dr advice like a bunch of sheep and doesnt do any research on their own.

What qualifies me to make the claims I do? For one I do a lot of research. And for another I have lived through many injuries, arthritis being one of them. I had arthritis so bad when I was 16 months old my mother was told I would never walk again. And here I am at 245lbs with 28" thighs and I can squat my docs family.

Before you go giving advice that celebrex helped with arthritis you have to understand the difference between arthritis and a simple tendon/ligament injury.

There are many forms of arthritis, I had rhuemetoid myself, due to malnutrition but thats a story for another day. Many athletes develope arthritis due to deterioration of the cartiledge and the body builds up calsium and joint tissue to try and take up the slack causesd by the weakoned tendons/lligaments that hold the joint.

My guess would be your arthritis is caused due to an injury and how you handled it. If you let a tendon/ligament injury go or load up on anti-inflamatories you interfere with the healing process and the tendons/ligament never turely heal. Then your body takes other steps and hence arthritis occurs. Much of which can be avoidd if people would use their heads, do a little research and stop following blindly what the medical comminity at large recommends.

In T2O's case he likely sustained a strain/sprain which is causing his pain. Tendons/ligaments are very poor in blood flow but have very dense nerve centers and thus injury to these areas can be very painfull AND take a long time to heal. Inflamation is the gateway to healing but unfortunatly its painfull.
