Joe Millionaire - Don't Read This if You Want to Enjoy the Show

I have a prediction about Joe Millionaire that will make you not near as excited about the show, and have about a 95% chance of being right.

They tell the girls he's a millionaire, then they let the show go all the way to the end, to the final four or eight girls.

Then, they tell the girls he is worth nothing, and makes $19K a year. They see which ones drop out and get pissed.

THEN, we all find out that he actually IS a millionaire, and then he'll really know which girls like him and can go from there.

It's too easy.

Even knowing that you may be right, I might still enjoy the show. Would love to see nothing more than some gold-digging ho get shown up on TV. Bitches, man, Bitches.

Nah, he was on Regis & Kelly this morning. Someone in the audience knows him from before he was a construction worker. He was a bellboy at a hotel. They also went into detail how they trained him to dance, talk, eat, and act like someone worth that amount of money.

But I agree, when the last few are there I bet they'll take them all to his "place of business". They'll watch him dig and nail and it will slowly sink in to them as they watch.
 
He's also currently in court for tax evasion. I guess he could still be that rich and be in court but our local FOX affiliate showed his house and interviewed one of the girls that was on who was from Daytona Beach

Lying about any aspect of a perspective spouse is WRONG. Whether it is the man lying about his income or the woman lying about whether or not she has children.

I have never watched any of these programs because frankly I don't watch TV. There is nothing that holds my attention. I'll work on my art, surf the web, IM w/friends, housework, masterbate OR SLEEP first.

Could'nt agree more, I pretty much stopped watching tv once all the "reality" shows started appearing.

Its nothing but cheesy fake ass drama and I don't why people still watch this shit.

I'll tell you why I watch it.

Because it's amusing to see real people on national television. these people aren't actors, nor are they scripted. They are everyday people put in unusual positions.

Ex: When they reveal to these girls that they haven't been dating a millionaire, just an everyday schmuck, the looks on their faces will be priceless. Pure humn reaction, emotion, etc will show on national television. This will not be faked, it will be real.

I love how pepole say reality TV is cheesey, fake ass drama, and then say they love West Wing. By TV's very nature, it is fake. that's what the script is for.

If you just enjoy it for what it is and not try to pick it apart like it would actually happen, you'll enjoy watching TV alot more.
 
So then, if I accept "real people" (as if none of them has a hidden agenda - ie - I will portray myself a certain way JUST TO BE ON TV) being put into SURREAL situations (yes, tons of people go on "group dates" and slug it out for one other person's attention all the time.) and have them lied to it on top of that (Yes, Joe - Sally IS NOT a virgin pure as the driven snow but is REALLY a crack addict with 10 children from 50 different guys most of which are in prison or dead!) and accept those people's "real unscripted reactions" (Well NO DUH they are going to be shocked!) as drama then I will not be missing out on something?

Let me put this in terms you can understand:

I like watching these shows because these people are not scripted and trained actors.

I do not think that they are actually what life is like in reality.

All movie-goers and television viewers alike must engage in something called "suspension of disbelief" or they will never enjoy anything on screen.




So, when you considered lying on a resume and portraying yourself in a certain way TO JUST WORK IN A GYM, did that disqualify you from being a "real person?"

When you watch a movie or a tv show like West Wing, you know its not real, but its a good story that keeps you interested.

I think the show is rigged to some extent. These girls were all picked because of their personality and they kept the ones that would make the best fights. And did anyone notice how he still has a racially diversified group of girls. I think Fox is behind most of this. I wouldn't be half surprised if Fox had a team of psychologists watching the girls 24/7 to see which ones would be most volatile...Which does make for a phony, but interesting show.

They probably can only do this type of show once. By the talk of it, it's going to be pretty popular and it will be hard to find another unsuspecting group of girls.

I'm sure you're too intelligent to have watched the show last night, but I'll say this anyway, and bikinimom, just go back to sucking cock.

When the girls asked him his middle name last night, the dude was truly surprised. He had no idea what to say, stumbling all over himself, looking like a complete fool. That was NOT scripted, he did NOT have a canned response. He was totally surprised and taken off-guard. THAT's why I enjoy it.

Another part, he tries to get back on the horse and fucks up and slips off the stirrup. That's because he had no idea how to ride horses. That is real shit that happens in real life. THAT's why I enjoy it.

Ever notice how it's so much more fun to watch the outtakes from movies and sitcoms? That's becasue unexpected shit happens and they don't know how to handle it, and it's amusing. That's because when an actor falls off a horse it ruins the movie. So they cut it all out and we never see it. This show is not like that (as much). Embarrassing and unexpected shit that happens in real life, happens to people on these shows for real, not because it's scripted to be funny or embarrassing.

And TC2, about your comment on Non-disclosure agreements, they make them sign them so they don't give away the show to the American public before they see it. THAT's the reason.
