Job interview question(social workers get in here)

I suck at these and usually way over dress ,dont really want to do that for this one.

so what do you guys think is appropriate to wear for a youth worker interview,I was thinking khakis or dress pants with a golf shirt and dress shoes.

is that ok or under dressed now?

Can't go wrong with a suit.

go with a tie dye shirt and a pic of a mary jane leaf on it.

ender,i usually do that just wasnt sure if it was too much.

im pretty nervous about all this too, dont know what kind of questions they are going to ask or what,im totally going in blind

Clothes are like your fucking hair. Just get rid of them and you'll never have felt more free in your life. I hate being like a woman trying to decide what to wear. I'd rather have 7 of the same outfits for every day of the week.

LOL. I wear a uniform and I like it. Never have to decide what to wear. If and when I change jobs, having to pick out clothes is one of the things I dread... Good luck with the interview!

I agree.....I need to dress up every day and would love to just wear the same thing daily. No "what boots will go with those brown slacks...etc"
It's pretty stressful trying to decide what to wear every day.

Another great benefit of the American capitalist consumer culture. Man I tell you I could be happy as a lark living in a trailor home with the right person. And I've got the right person.

I'm thinking Tupac baggy T, baggy jeans - keep one hand on your crouch, and lots of bling bling. If you reek like you just killed a 40 you got the job for sure - LOL. You might ask if anybody got a blunt to fire up.
Good luck - for real.

welllllllllllll, that would not make me happy...haha! Unless by trailer home you mean The Four Seasons, on a beach in the bahamas living with Mathew McCanahunny, then yeah!..hehe!

We're gonna retire young. Sell my home and get a trailor home on some land. There are some nice ones out here. The system has failed to brainwash me. My and my girl can live very cheaply and are very happy together. We don't need other people to entertain us except on the t.v. and internet (lol) We don't even need to leave the house except to exercise and go to the store. Life has become too complicated and that's why people have stress diseases. Maybe it's time we got back to the basics of love..." Let's go to Luchenbach Texas, Willie and Waylon and the boys. This successful life we're livin' got us feudin' like the Hatfield's and McCoys".. "Baby let's sell your diamond ring, buy some boots and faded jeans and go away, this coat and tie is choking me and in your high society you cry all day."........... " Woohoo Thank God I'm a country boy yeah, free as a bird"

Wear a tube top and flip flops. Oh yeah, and make sure to offer them a beer.

The best professor that I ever had wore the same outfit every day. He said it was liberating not to mess with what to wear. He had several pairs of khakis, white shirts, and red ties. Every day that is what he wore. He was the most phenomenal teacher I've ever heard. I would tape his lectures just so I could hear them again later.

His name was Professor Biteme.

dress 1 level up from what you'd expect to wear on the job.....but if not certain, I'd go with the suit. I interview people a bit and I'm always impressed by candidates that wear a suit as apposed to khakis.

WHo gives a fuck with what you're impressed with? Stick your job up your ass.

Man that felt good. No offense.

Lots of jobs have deformalized their dress codes. I don't know much about the business industry, but generally, for a job interview, just dress in the nicest clothes you have. If you don't have a suit, I wouldn't recommend going out and buying one just for the interview. Dress pants, casual dress shoes, LS button-up shirt and a non-advertising jacket should be fine.

When it comes down to it, your schooling, experience, knowledge and the way you handle yourself will come across much more than tiny differences in dress. A well-dressed idiot is still an idiot, and employers aren't dumb. There are always exceptions, but I'm just generalizing.

good choice and good luck!
Nerves are ok, they keep you alert.
Stay focused and make sure you tell them what you want, don't wait for them to tell you what they want.

Unless this job is at a construction site, you can't go wrong with a conservative suit and tie. Brown or black lace shoes, preferably wingtips. No gaudy jewelry, fresh haircut and shave, neatly trimmed nails.

Well, if you are being interviewed for a Nazi Youth worker position, the requisite short sleeve collared button shirt and khaki trousers tucked in the jack boots are sure to catch the eye of even the most hardened Senior SS Stormtrooper.

I still say go dressed as the terminator.

How about a batman costume?
