I wonder why it is that 2nite i must have read about 20 posts about sources??? Please read the rules.... if you are too lazy to do so, then ... read this....

and I'll just go on record here to say that I don't believe there is a Jesus or a Satan. we are all just carbon and water and then we die and rot. it's basic biology, physics, chemistry, etc.

i will say that the ten commandments are a good set of morals that we should follow.
i also think the bible is the best fiction novel ever written.

I am very open to many ideas, philosophies, and I do not live my life in fear. I am sorry to dissapoint you; you ignorant little man.

My handle on every other boards is Tyler Durden. I thought this would be appropriate to bring up, because I chose that handle because I share many of Tylers philosophys: anti-consumerism, "knowing not fearing that one day I am going to die", insomnia, and basically relying on myself for my own purpose and sense of meaning.

So, I am sorry to tell you that your petty remarks don't even offend me. I am just being thoughtfull of the people that it would offend. Many people devote their lives to Jesus Christ, and for them I don't thinkthey would appreciate the innapropriate and completely unthoughtfull remarks you have made.

We'll see how you react when someone starts playing around with something that is sacred to you. And, if there is nothing sacred to you, I am sorry.

I am not trying to make enemies I just enjoy respecting everyone and there beliefs. I would say the same thing if this thread was about Buddah, Allah, ect.

For those of you who say there is nothing more to use than science can explain. I would love to hear your explanation of time. Or rather the explanation of beggining and end of time. What exsited before the "big bang." How can everything be created from nothing? Define nothing and tell me how nothing can exist or change or cause a burst of creation. It is these questions that lead me to believe that since my brain and science do not and can not understand these concepts there is a lot that science will never be able to explain.

(I am not being sarcastic here. I am a business major with a minor in political science and PHILOSOPY. I like hearing others views. I also spend a lot of time studying physics and astronomy.)

It's interesting to note that you share the same philosophies as a movie character that was insane. The only ass Tyler Durden kicked was his own.

As for as the BIG BANG theory, I don't know if that is totally accurate either. All I am saying is that as a logically thinking being, there is a lot more scientific evidence as to where we came from than there is Biblical evidence. Really, the Bible is basically a collection of scriblings from people who would be considered totally uneducated today.

I find it very offensive to use my Lord's name in vain! All I know is that Jesus is Lord and if you dont agree then you will have to answer to Him when you die. Oh yea Jesus did die and raise three days later---thats why the Romans pierced his lungs to see if fluid drained out when He was on His cross. And fluid did drain meaning His lungs filled with water and he suffocated. BUt on that day Jesus delivered Satan a death blow with His victory on the cross. Just think about it for one second--what if their is really a heaven and a hell and the only way into heaven is to believe that Jesus is Lord and He died and raised 3 days later--then you died and you did not believe any of that then what would you say when you are about to be judged?

Look, I don't want to sound a dick but I'm gonna have to. You can't tell anyone what to belive, because they're going to believe what they want to. The more you tell them to stop using the Lord Jesus' name in vein the more they're going to do it. And the more you guys use His name in vein, the more they're going to complain about it. So just do us all a favor, for the love of God, for the hatred of Satan, or whatever the hell you believe in, just shut the fuck up!!
 
Flame if you will. I am a laid back guy and at no time did this thread create any emotion for me except pitty. I know that at least one person was offended by this thread, and for that, I'm glad I spoke up.

Just wanted to say cheers to those of you who actually had an inteligent/mature response. And, I'm a little dissapointed in the, "shut up" type responses. I thought that some of you obtuse kids would've had a little more of an inteligent repsonse than that.

I wasn't trying to give an explanation. I was simply trying to point out that there isn't one. I have to feel sorry for all the kids on this board that are too afraid of other peoples beliefs to respect them.

Look, I was just trying to make the board a comfortable place for everyone. But, there will always be those that are too insecure about themselves to be open and respectfull of others beliefs. My philosophy in life is to live each day to its fullest, while allowing everyone else to have their own philosophy. After 9-11-00, I thought that sudden contagious nature of this kind of philosophy would last a little longer. I'm sorry to see that it hasn't.

This isn't a discussion for this board, and I'm sorry if I have offended anyone. Back to a Mature :rolleyes: discussion of AS.
