Jay Cutler's new DVD

I highly recommend his last 3 dvds. Don't know if he has any more than that, but they are 2 DVD sets, and his training is what should inspire us all.

He is simply awesome.

I like how (on one of his DVDs) he is doing incline bench press with 405 and no clip for reps

405 is a lot, but he is very massive. I never use clips and most people don't. I only use them on certain things like bar curls or something to where the balance may not be perfect.

i have to use them at any weight because i work out at the high school where i coach and several years back there was a strong kid (top thrower in the nation) there who left his weights on over the weekend all the time (like 500 on the squat) and the bars are all bent.

Not being a dick, but how does that make sense. You use collars because of a kid that was doing heavy weight bent the bars. That makes absolutely no sense at all. It is safer in reality for not using collars on the bench. If you get stuck lean that shit to one side and the plates come a crashing.

I can see using collars to try and set an example to the kids, but to me it makes no sense.

nah, i'm sure with the bars being bent the weights come-a-crashing whether you want them to or not. back in hs we had the same problem. huge guy that would squat rediculous amounts of weight, and when he bent the bar he switched it out for another. pretty soon they were all bent. the best sense would be for the athletic program to throw the bars away and replace them with straight ones. at least that's the safest thing.

not if you work in a commercial gym and your shit keels over and fucks up some other patrons - lawsuit.

We strictly enforce use of collars - and thats why you have a spotter.

Just bought the DVD can't wait to watch it. Who cares if Jay is using clips or not. I think he is pretty experianced in a weight room....

Jay is a smart bodybuilder, he chucks his ego at the door and lifts to grow, not to be the strongest guy in the gym. All of the people who say Jay doesnt train hard or isnt that strong are the same people who are battling serious injuries day in and day out. Bottom line is none of the top bodybuilders are even close to as strong as the top powerlifters, no not even Ronnie. It's a different sport and Jay is smart enough to realize you train intelligently, without ego.

If you dont use collars by the 3rd rep the plates just come off.

he said on his video that he doesnt count reps he says its all about the contraction. which imo is true but i am no where near his caliber lol

I agree- but one thing about Ronnie, is he lifts IMHO alot harder than alot of the others, I've seen almost every top guys videos, and he seems to go at it like there is no tommorow- and unforunately, some vids are them just going through the motions...

Dorian is #1 in my book. Jay rocks too.

BTW (to answer the post) - you can get tons of videos free on eDonkey and other P2P file share programs. If DLing pirated videos gives you the willies then hit eBay, sometimes they have them there cheap...also there are a ton of resellers on Amazon.com.

Your body may not, but your mind does. Without the mind you wouldn't be able to lift half of what you can do.
