Ive F&^%ing had it with my ISP!!!!

They took on more customers than what they could handle and now its cutting into my bandwith BUT the thing that REALLY pisses me off is there news server! They fed us full of shit untill we found out ourselves what the problem was. We did trace routes and found out through uunet that they where bottlenecked. Once we told them what we knew what was going on they finally told us the truth that they added a news server and that was going to slow everything down untill they got more hardware to add bandwith. I told them fuckers that the news server was just supposed to be an added feature and they are cutting into paying customers bandwith! I was told they got to many complaints when they shut it off. I cant find a good ISP for nothing. I wish I had the money to run a t3.

Anyone have any idea's as to what I can do? BBB or FCC or something. The thing is I do allot of online gaming and pings are critical so i need the bandwith I'm paying for.

Im on DSL and Your right it is supposed to be consistent but its any but consistent. Speeds are all over the place with everyone I have ever known to have it. Cable is much better but they do not offer it around here.

it is all about the $$$.
pay more money and you will get better service.

you have crappy service because they are trying to make the most money from what they have.

give them a reason to see you as more valuable than your regular Joe User, and you are more likely to get better/faster service.

that said, if it is DSL, then you are limited by physics (distance, temp, and line quality.

1.5 down and 128kb up. Your right I should be getting that speed but im not. They are supposed to guarantee within 80% of what they offer but I get half. I told them The only reason I have DSL is for gaming and I cannot game with shit speeds so I want my money back. They told me is was not in there policy to refund money. I ask them if it was in there policy to give people what they pay for. Ive went round and round with them. Everytime I call its 1/2 hour before they can get me an administrator on the line. Your right Verison is pretty good but Ohio so fucked up they will not allow Verison to ISP because they say it would be a Monopoly! Its all political. This is the 2nd ISP I have had. Frognet used to be good but like Ive said before that fucking news server is moving tons of data. If they would shut that fucking thing off it would be fine.


HS I dont know what else I could do for them. I have sent over 20 people to them and I pay for the 1.5mb down and 128up. $99 a month!

what kinda speed are you getting? 30kb/sec? 10kb/sec? like what's the speed?

You're paying for say 256K DOWNLOAD per second, you should be getting THAT speed. Otherwise demand a refund every single month. An ISP can't promise you a certain bandwith and then not deliver it.

CAn't you change your isp? but keep your dsl hardware provider? I know i have verizon for my dsl but can use any isp for my isp provider -- i use verizon also for my isp provider cuz they've been pretty reliable so far.

I wish I know someone who could do a denial of service attack on them.
