Interesting Statistics:
- Between 1976 and 2011 there were 279,384 African American murder victims
- In that same date range, 262,621 were murdered by other African Americans
- 94% were murdered by other African Americans
- African Americans make-up only 13 percent of the nation’s population
- African Americans account for more than 50 percent of homicide victims.
So interestingly enough, the first high-profile case in many years regarding an African American murder is done by a white guy. What are the chances?
I'm willing to run the numbers. Who was the last African American murdered who received this much attention by the media?
This will be an interesting stats project.
