Itchy rash. . .WTF??

I just finished week 8 of t_est-e 400 ew and d_eca 200 ew. . .a couple of weeks back i noticed some itchy spots on my back, now my whole back is kind of itchy and i've also noticed a little on my neck and under my arms. . .just a few little red spots here and there that itch like HELL.

My skin has always been kind of sensitive, I can't use any soaps that have any perfumey shit or I break out within a day or two of use.

Do you think this problem is from the j00se or is it maybe something I'm eating/drinking and then sweating out (e.g. creatine)?

Any help/suggestions appreciated.

i am the same way. i gotta use perfume/dye free laundry soaps. i have never had a problem with juice doing that to me.

u could be just having another allergic reaction to something u came in contact with. i doubt it is something u r secreting through sweat but hey i am no doctor.

i'm so damn careful about everything that i come in contact with, so i doubt that it's that. . .

i have had problems with some supplements in the past. . .where it's something that i take/ingest everyday. . .and there's something in it that i'm allergic to. . .i'll get a rash in places where i sweat a lot (e.g., under my arms) and where my clothes rub against my skin (causing further irritation). . .in those instances, i've just looked backward to what i've changed and i can usually pick out something(s) that i've added to my regimen, and eliminate them one at a time until i identify the culprit. . .but nothing has worked in this case. . .strange. . .and itchy. . .

is may be secondary polycythemia--it is a side effect of tes.t that is not too uncommon (my bro-in-law got it) and often induced on purpose by endurance athletes. essentially you produce too many red blood cells. the sides of this can be exacerbated by dehydration.

the one symptom is that itch is almost painful--

what new supps did u add this time?

stumped me...unless u r still just having some residual effect

give a pint of blood--seriously--and stop the creatine.

don't i have to tell them (the red cross) that i have been poking my bum with 23g needles and injecting j00se into it?? i think there's a sign right inside the door. . .

Good advice from Eddy - you could have a CBC run and it would show high red blood cells and most likely iron - the doc could order a phlebotomy (fla-bot-am-e) essentially it's giving blood but they dump it down the drain instead.

I have them done all the time for high iron - gives you a fresh on the inside feeling. No harm can be done either if you don't need it.

You could always get a 'do it your self kit'. Eddy have you ever seen any blood doping done? Was reading about it last week and never hear shit about it here.

Remove no more than 500cc's / 600cc's once a week would be the absolute max for an adult. You can really do this for no more than 8 weeks and a CBC profile should be run in between each one or two at most.

If there's a topic on here that I can say I'm an expert at - this is it.

good lord. . .i'm not afraid of needles or anything and i'm not bothered by the sight of my own blood (i played rugby for 6 years :) ) but a "do it yourself" blood-letting seems a little over the top. . .

i have a doc's scrip for the stuff im using. . .does that make it ok from a giving blood standpoint??

also, what about the "goodies" floating around in my bloodstream. . .the stuff that gets drawn out will (obviously) go to waste :(

By all means go to the Dr and have them extract it. Not to mention your not 100% sure this will even fix your rash.

You should read this, kind of interesting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_doping

So can blood doping be done safely in a home enviornment? I do NOT plan on doing it more curious then anything.

i know guys that have done it the old way (blood out/blood in later) and the new way (E/.P.O)--and one of them had the worst case of rash/itching--and imagine it in a skintight shirt and bib shorts--while riding a pace line w/your front wheel a few inches from the guy in front of you :worried:

when they first started to do it w/epo + removing and later infusing the blood a bunch of pro cyclists died b/c of it (like 8 died)

i never did it b/c it way way over my level of comp---

I live in the boulder area of colorado--so the sides of excess rbc are sort of known a bit more than in other places b/c of the number of pro endurance athletes training here (altitude triggers it naturally)

no, b/c you still have to remove the rbc from the blood it's done by medical people---the real doping is just using e/p/o--which is not all that safe anyway--the wrong amount, blood turns to glue, and you die in your sleep.

Polycythemia Caused by Drug Use
Androgens (e.g., testosterone) can cause polycythemia by stimulating erythropoietin production.26 The elevation in hematocrit is usually mild, and hematocrit returns to normal 2 to 3 months after discontinuance of anabolic steroid use. Since recombinant human erythropoietin and darbepoetin have become available, concern has been raised that competitive athletes involved in endurance sports, such as bicycle racing, cross-country skiing, and long-distance running, might surreptitiously self-inject this drug to improve athletic performance.27–29 Phlebotomy followed by blood doping is known to improve performance in runners and skiers. A similar increase in hematocrit can be achieved with erythropoietin injections, which can increase maximal exercise capacity. The unmonitored increase in red blood cell production may cause significant polycythemia, which, when coupled with exercise-induced dehydration, can have tragic consequences. Erythropoietin abuse has been linked to the deaths of competitive bicyclists.27 The use of erythropoietin or darbepoetin to improve athletic performance is banned by the International Olympics Committee. Recombinant human erythropoietin can be detected in the urine by isoelectric focusing.30

Good info Eddy. Great read on the rest of the info on that site also. Thx bro!

no offense bro's but does anyone else find this odd to be doing but me?

i say b4 trying this go see a doctor. like u said u have a script...no worries.

YES! Speculation. Go see a dermatologist.

It could possibly be the early stages of:
Leprosy, Herpes Zoster, Flesh Eateing Bacteria, or Mogo on the GA-GOGO!

Go get a blood transfusion and hit me back in the morning?!?!?!?!

You should always see a doc first - the do it at home bleeding is not a good idea but many people do.

I've done it probably 70 times but always in a clinic with a docs supervision and a nurse to actually do it - 3 diff blood tests each week.

My doc saved my life by figuring this out when I was only 23 - now am 31.

I developed something called folcolistis at about the age of 18? Went to the dematologist and they took out a chunk of my skin sent it in and thats what i had.
Best thing to do is go to the dematologist and get it checked out. Sounds like what i have.
I have little red bumps all over my back and arms mostly. They hurt like hell and itch like crazy. There are medicines to help it but insurance companies consider it vanity drugs. Acctune is one of them. So now i have to wash with a special soap. It sucks. Tanning cuts it down a bit and my wife will wipe me down with rubbing alchol.
