It would appear I suck at video games

i've been in video game crackhead mode. cheaper/healthier than going out a bunch and the games now are so ridiculously good.

problem is i have a bunch of games i haven't even played yet. since i only got my ps3 a few months ago (when it went on sale) i haven't played alot of the classics and i've found them really cheap. when i start playing a game i usually play it till i beta it and get all the secrets.

No shit. With all the stat tracking and competitiveness it changes the game completely to something more dynamic.

And I can't agree on the growing out of games thing anymore either lol. I did for a while at school but the way games are getting it's almost like saying you've grown out of movies. But the difference there is interactive is always more fun than passive.
I just read the average age of a gamer now is 31. I'm not even there yet wtf.

i agree about it hard to grow out of games.i just think that sometimes priorities make it a less appealing/or too time consuming option.

for a good while i didn't have any next gen game system (probably 3-4 years). the last system i had owned was a nintendo gamecube. the only games i would play were madden on ps2 against my friends.

then i bought a xbox 360 last year (and sold it a few months after due to $$ problems) .

didn't have anything till i got the ps3 again. Now that i have the ps3, i can easily get sucked in if i'm feeling lazy or stressed because these games are so engaging. So basically my love/addiction of games never changed, just my priorities in life shifted.

the thing that impresses me most about video games is unlike other entertainment (Music,tv, movies) the overall quality has gone up considerably recently. Sometimes when things change they often shy away from the core components that made things good to begin with. There seems to be alot more crappy movies overall(but certainly alot of good ones) and music, i'm not even going to get into. But gaming has completely envolved to the point where all your favorite things are still there but just with so much more to offer graphically, story wise etc.

i still play mario kart 64 at least an hour a week :D

best way ever to pass time if you're waiting on somebody or have to kill 10-15 min

I used to kick ass at the tekken games. And by "kick ass" I mean "mash buttons furiously and with zero stretegy and somehow usually win, much to the massive frustration of my boyfriend at the time." First person shooters were a little less frantic and I actually bothered to learn the controls. It's been a while though. I gave all my game systems away in the last few years.

True gamers are PC gamers...in particular strategy gamers and not the geigh ass rts clickfest strategy games.

I kinda pride myself on not being a true gamer. My skin has color, my ass is boil free, and I don't own any t-shirts that have some trekkie joke written in code on the front of them.

I thought rts is hardcore, being real-time n all. What type of strategy are you talkin about, turn-based? :heks:
