IT Band Pain

Do any of you guys have to deal with IT band pain? I get it mostly when I DL near my max, but generally not when squatting - and only on my right side.

When it flares up, I eat a lot of Advil and break out the foam rollers, but I was wondering if there were other things I could be doing. After searching through the internet, it seems that this is very common to distance runners, but their treatment doesn't seem like it would apply to well to a lifting situation.

My IT bands have always been tight, never caused a problem yet though. All i've heard to do is use a roller or get a deep tissue but its not a pleasant experience.

Yea, I've been hitting it with my PVC cored roller anc doing a lot of crying.

I tweaked it doing a 635 lb frame carry. You stronman guys are fucking ntuz. I must be even crazier to keep going back for more punishment.

I've had horrible IT band tightness ever since I was 14 years old. It has been so bad I couldnt even walk normal let alone do any leglifts at ALL. Rolling a baseball or other small ball down it usually seems to help a bit.
 
Sucks.

Stick with the rolling, like twice a day. If you keep on top of it, it doesn't take long before it's no longer painful to roll. 2-4 weeks I would guess. Really have to keep at it.

Same with stretching. The moment you start to feel better, you get lazy and stop doing your stretches/rolling. Then the pain comes back. Same old story.

I've decided people like you are part of the problem. :p

Frame carry, keg medley, the finger, frame walk. I never had any of these problems when I just did 3 lifts.

Meanwhile, my forearms are so beat up I look like an IV drug user, I can't get the tacky out of anything, and the Bergman boys think its funny to watch me try and pick stones. ;)

You guys are sick I tell you. Sick.
