Tell the truth.

I came back to work today after a few days off of course. And I do not feel compelled to ask everyfuckingbody I come into contact with if they had a good Christmas, or ask how was their Christmas, etc.

I'm not trying to be mean, but I really don't care. I assume they had a good holiday (i did) and if they really feel compelled to tell me about it, I am quite sure they will. But, I'm already sick of hearing "How was your Christmas" everytime I turn around.

And before the holiday it was constantly, "What are your plans for Christmas"

jesus christ. i feel compelled to mind my own business. why don't others share this sentiment?
 
are you more sensitive to it because your situation at home has changed this past year and don't want to be probed about it?

I ask people if they had a nice holiday, but the truth is that if they didn't, it makes for a very awkward moment.

no not at all. i had an awesome holiday. i guess i just hate chit chatty shit. and the fact that its like youre compelled this time of year to talk about the holidays with everyfucking person you see. its so annoying. id rather just STFU

them: "WELL TIS THE SEASON!"

me: "did you go x-mas shopping yet"

them: "WHAT'S THE FUCKING RUSH!"

me: "how was new years?"

them: "like every other fucking day, DRANK MY MISERY AWAY!"

i agree with you. the past two days when I went to the gym that is the first thing everyone asks. come up with a new topic.... I predict next it will be "what are your plans for new years eve"

If I wanted to tell you, I would have already volunteered the info
 
Its just like when co-workers on monday ask the obligatory "did you have a good weekend?"
they dont give a fuck if it was good or not, its just a little more sophisticated way of saying "hi" and acknowledging you exist every week.
If you had a shit weekend/xmas/whatever try telling them about it next time they ask and see if they give a shit lol

there's that group that dont really give a shit and then the rest just want to bring up the subject so that they can tell you about their weekend/xmas/whatever... and many times afterward we have all said... "I dont give a shit"
 
I never ask because I don't care either. I have already been asked 2-3 times today about mine (fantastic). I might just print out my response and post it on my door.
 
Im pretty sick of being asked because tho I volunteer my cutesy youngest daughter stories...

I realize no one actually cares

and the rest of it was utterly uneventful


the guy that owns the local 7 eleven has even asked us...the dudes muslim

why ask????
 
Sometimes that bugs me. If I become annoyed or just don't feel like talking, just make it short and only anwser the question asked. I'll just quickly say it was good, but I need to get back to work, will talk later. If they try to pull me back, I just respond with, I wish we could talk more, but my hands are tied, later. :)
 
Wow, I guess Im a bigger bitch than I thought because not only do I not care, I dont fake caring by asking and hadnt even wondered if it was rude I didnt ask... I just didnt give a fuck and didnt give a fuck about giving a fuck... I guess my social sckills are evaporating...
