But he got the GO light.........just sayin.

Wow. That's a lot of weight. Ugly fucking squat though. I respect the weights he's moving, but that's no squat in my book.

yes. It is to parallel. Should it count as the world record squat? With a monolift, super short range of motion, etc? Probably not

he broke parrelell no question asked

should it be counted? yes

he moved the bar below parrellel and returned it to the height of the mono lift

wat more do you want him to do?

if anyone has worn one of those suites ud know its almost impossible to stand up straight, combined with the amount of weight on the squat bar pressing down on ur back ur bound to arch forward to some extent

but since were watching powerlifting videos

YouTube - World record deadlift 1003lb andy bolton

^^^^ my favourite atm

umm... the suit helps you stand up straight bro, it gets you out of the hole, it is hard to NOT stand up straight in a suit... with staps up it helps keep you from leaning forward... without the suit i doubt he could descend without falling forward...
its not that i care how pretty his squat looks (which it isnt).. but that just dosnt look parallel to me... and its in a federation that is known to pass lifts that are off...
that would not pass in USPF or IPF... even if they allowed monolifts...

he's not training and conditioning.. he is testing a limit.. did he get to parallel?? yes?? then it is a squat..

ugly squat but when somone is lifting that much weight who cares!! the fact of the matter is most of use couldnt even stand with that amont of weight let alone try to squat it

The most weight I have lifted off a rack was 675lbs.

I was passing by my national level pl friend who was "warming up" on triples and 675 happened to be what was on the bar when I walked by. I decided to get under it and lift it up.

I succeeded and then promptly put it back down.

I'm confident some day I will be able to squat that much, but at the time I had never seriously tried to unrack anything over about 450.

Let me tell you that just holding that 675 for about 4 seconds I had very sore obliques the next day as well as some ab fatigue.

Just supporting 1250lbs alone is a pretty decent feat of strength imo. Ya, that was an ugly fucking squat, but he he did hit parallel and then rose up higher than when he started so it looked passable to me.

Props to that guy.

i dont understand how its even a question if that was parallel. it clearly was. ugly obviously but his thigh bones were easily parallel to the ground.

Yes the squat had depth.

I have absolutely no respect for anything done with multi-ply gear, wraps over 2m and out of a monolift.

If you can't walk it out, you can't squat it.

I also have absolutely no respect for the IPF/USAPL so I guess that puts me in a real catch-22.
