I was reading in several health and fitness mags that pros wake up several times during the night and down a protein shake with carbs. What type of supplements should I take right before bed? What type of protein & carbs should I take if I wake up in the middle of the night? Whey is fast acting right? Should I use casein? Any other bros wake up in the middle of the night to down a protein shake.

I would leave the carbs out,as that is asking for BF problems(unless you're super lean and are trying desperately to bulk).I would use a combo whey/casein formula so that you are reaching hyperaminoacidemia(anabolic)as well as overriding any rapid oxidation with slower releasing AA's(anti-catabolism)from the casein.
