Is there anyway AAS can cause prostatitis?

Sup bros. Just got back from doctors office a few hours ago, and he told me I had prostatits. I'm just curious to know if me using aas could've had anything to do with me getting it, or could've it made it worse in any way? Also, if anyone has any experience with it, I'm curious to know after the antiboitics, does it completly go away? Doctor told me it should, but it will probaly come back. I appreciate any help ya can give me.

I had my first case of it a month and a half or so ago-- I dont really know what caused it but I was on gear at the time-- I am 26-btw I havent had any problems since then and my doctor didnt act like I should be worried that much about it--

BTW-- What symptoms did you have that caused you to go in?
I had some blood in my semen!! scared the shit out of me

I took some antibiotics for 2 weeks that made me weak and gave me sleep problems, but it is all better now!!

Do you mean prostate enlargement?
If so then Yes AS can definately cause / exacerbate prostate problems as the prostate is very sensitive to DHT (and it's analogs)
What AS are you taking - I assume there's some test in there somewhere..?
A 5AR blocker (finasteride / dutasteride / saw palmetto) would probably sort this problem out

I was taking saw palmetto through out the cycle. But I dont think the AS caused it, Im just wondering if it could've made it worse. I've already had issues with it a while ago, but the dr told me it was a UTI. Then when i went back he examined the prostate, and said it was a prostate infection, and once a person gets it they are prone to keep on getting them. Thanks for the replies, bump for more help.

You might try some finasteride.
