Is test really as good as everyone thinks?

I'm beginning to question test...I think it's getting more respect than what it deserves...I mean it's great for when your natural test shuts down, but after that I really haven't seen much from it. I've made the largest bit of my gains from dbol and I'm hardening up from EQ however outside of gaining from water, I haven't seen much else!!! So I'm questioning what is the best dosages for test for it seems that anything under 750mg without the help from dbol, tren or deca, doesn't do much for actual muscle gain? Can we get some serious discussion about this?
 
I think it comes down to the fact that test is the base for good cycles (like you said). I understand what your saying though. I often feel that test might not be doing all that much for me if I wasn't using something else to enhance it's properties.

I just use a 250 hg test base, then add var, eq, npp to the mix when needed.
 
Well it goes like this. Test is king because everyone responds to it. The degree of response is what varies from individual to individual. So while test may be so so for you, there are others to whom it may be the best thing out there, i am one of them.

I've always said, try to do as many cycles as you can with single compunds to see how they react in your body and how your body reacts to them. Then start different stacks. For some individuals test is shit, and a Nondrolone (like Deca) drug works wonders even at low dosages.
 
Test sucked for me. Deca worked wonders. My libido was up on deca and down on test. I am going to run them together though and see what happens. Though I ran test and tren and still liked deca better. I am just trying to decice what I want to run the test at. I may choose between 500 - 750. Yet I may decide just 200 or 250. We'll c, I think it may help with testosterone assisted body functions but if thats all I get out of it why go over 200 ??? Plus if nandrolone is a modified testosterone mimicker why does tets have to be run as a base ?? Why not run deca at 600mgs and test at 250 ???

From what I'm picking up...as least for me.....that test is only supplying me with it's normal daily functions and nothing else...I started at 200 and gained weight very quickly but that was with dbol...now I'm up to 600 and don't feel or see a damn thing, but I'm getting more pimples...so yes for the daily functions I can see it, but I can't wait to recycle dbol again for some real gains!!!

you are right that nandrolone is better suited for bodybuilding purposes, its much more anabolic on an mg-per-mg basis compared to testosteroe, while suppressing negative sides like acne or prostate problems, it definitely lowers endogenous testosterone and decreases sperm production up to infertility, which is why it is examined as a potential male contraceptive: http://jcem.endojournals.org/cgi/content/abstract/88/11/5232
it will depend on how much testosterone you need to keep your libido up, but to actually increase your libido with nandrolone is uheard of, unless you were using fakes of course, it would not be the first case where primobolan or nandrolone was actually a low-dose test formulation.
if it were actually the case to increase libido with nandrolone than there must be cases where excess testosterone leads to a decrease, which has obviously happend to you. i have never seen a decrease in libido myself but i also never exceed 500mg per week, probably there is not only a lower boundary but also an upper boundary for optimal testosterone concentration on optimizing libido.

I'm in the same boat. when i stopped the dbol and upped the test from 400 to 700, nothing except more oiliness happened.

i did a little test + anavar quikie, and as soon as i stopped the anavar & upped th test, the gains stopped.

i'm starting to think that i should keep the test down around 200-300, and go from dbol to npp (give the liver a break) and end with var. maybe keep EQ in there tru-out at 300-400 mg ew. yum yum.

Libido increases from Deca are not uncommon. Back in the day i always scored ligit gear, sometimes i would supply in Europe straight from pharmacies. I ued Deca for quite a few cycles, it was always Organon yellow tops @ 200mg per cc. The first run ever i did with it, with a dosage peaking out @ 400mg weekly, left me with severe Deca dick and i mean severe. The second run (by itself) yielded much better gains and my libido went through the roof. Ever since the first cycle i never got Deca dick again and my libido has always been up. Seems my body has adapted to the drug somehow and i no longer suffer from it's most negative side. But mg per mg it never came close to test for me.

See this is good, I like discussions like this...So far we're seeing the true gains come from dbol, deca, tren so it's seems to be a waste of money to jump up to 750-1g of test being that it doesn't provide anything more then just want we need to function daily....I would like to heard from someone who's doing 1g of test with nothing else and hear his side of the story!
 
I am glad you started this ...cause I was going to ask this question. I haven't cycled in a long long time. I wanting to start another, 1. I have the Test. 2. Should I do just Test? I have not been able to get the Deca and Winni I wanted to stack ...or should I just wait it out till I can get a stack going? I am a novice when it comes to this stuff so any opinions are greatly appreciated.

ive ran 1g of test before with nothing else. id say that i got better gains from 40mg dbol a day for 4 weeks than i did off the 1g test a week for 10 weeks. and the strengh was no comparison. i can very little strength gains from the test. and of course the dbol has got my strength way up.
 
IHO test worked great for me...It was my first cycle and only took 250mg...and my libido was thru the roof and so were my gains...im not on the test is king bandwagon..but it werked fur me: and it could also be cause it was only my first cycle..so well see...more to come for sure

Well it's no question about libido or gaining from test, but the big question is how much actual muscle tissue did you acumulate vs water weight...Just gaining weight isn't enough, give us your beginning weight and ending weight. Your beginning fat % and your ending....Your beginning bench press and your ending...Break it down for us bro...We are starving for some information!!!

I'm feeling ya bro...No doubt with 40mg of dbol you are going to see gains...muscle and strength....I'm on 600mg of test and it's been 3 weeks since the dbol portion and my strength has dropped a little...I'm still holding the weight, but I'm also running EQ at 600mg so my muscles are a little denser...Damn bro 1g of test and nothing to brag about?

Come on guys...We need more input here!
 
I was told by a reputable mod at another board even on like your 3rd cycle run test at a gram that it carries a magical property at that amount. He said if your going to run it, run it your shutting yourself doen anyway. He said 400 and 500mgs/wk really dont do shit for muscle gains. Well I didnt listen and I ran test at 500 with tren at 50mgs/ed. I think he mayb right !!!
 
I'm currently running a gram/week with 50mg/day of dbol. I just started my third week, and I'm up 22 pounds. Excellent strength gains, too. I have always responded well to test. The most I had done in the past was 250mg/week. I will have to see where I'm at on weeks 10-12 to really let you know what I think. I am thinking of adding some tren and eq though...

Disagree. 500mg/week will do ya just fine unless you've been at it a while. Test should be the base for every cycle IMO.

If you are up 22lbs is 3 weeks with test, unless it's prop or sus250 your gains are strictly from dbol and with 22lbs in 3 weeks, with all the water you are holding I'm surprise that you haven't passed out from high blood pressure (lol). Again...It still hasn't proven anything about running 1g of test for dbol is still in the mix and is the primary builder! The discussion was that is test really as powerful of a muscle builder as many seem to think?

We know about the base and the purpose of test, but we are looking for proof that test is the almighty muscle builder that many claim it to be. So can you offer use more than just 500mg is enough and test should be the base for every cycle?

I started at 185 bench..flat bar...75's dumbells...now after test im at 240 flat and 100-105's on dumbells...full 10-12 reps on both ...max couldnt even tell you as im not there to impress at the gym
 
oh...also put on about 35lbs..some water...after 9 weeks off the waters gone and im left with about 20lbs extra muscle..and didnt see much until my 6th week then i was like a monster....

my last cycle consisted of as follows..

wk1-12 250mg sust..
wk1-12 300mg decca
wk8-12 200mg primo..not sure if it was real..but

my bf was about 15-18% not sure exactly...went up to the low 20's right after and as of now im back down to the teens.....

ran nolva pct for 2 weeks...21 days after the last sustshot...

im 6'4 and about 235lbs..varies from day to day..

i enjoy long walks on the beach...my favorite color is blue and im a sucker for blondes with big boobs....anyother info needed just ask...LOL!!!

Actually, I started my cycle on August 1st. I didn't get my dbols until the 11th., so really I've only been on them for a couple of weeks. I can start to feel the test kicking in now. It's just a little more of a perpetual pump feel than what I had on dbol. I'm not holding any water thanks to Arimidex and Nolvadex. I have always been very sensitive to any medications. After two weeks on a Tren Acetate cycle at 100mg eod, everybody was lookin' at me like WTF! I felt the Tren by the third day of being on it. I plan to go from 215 to 260 on this cycle while keeping my bodyfat in check. I know that sounds like a ton, but I have always responded extremely well to any kind of gear that I've taken. I'm not on the Test bandwagon yet. Like I said, I'll keep you posted.

I'm sure decca played the major role in your gains...I'm still looking for someone who just ran test alone though, but no one seems to be bitting!
 
on my 1st cycle, 250mg sustanon= 30lbs of gain, 25 kept to this day 3 years later. I like test, I naturally have low test though. So the small amount of sus I used gave my body what it was naturally needing so I fed it! I like test still, but I always stack it with deca and an oral for 5 weeks. works fine for my body. Its wierd how all of our male bodies react differently to test isnt it.

After thinking about it, I was wondering myself if responses to test differs by what the body is use to naturally. Like you said you naturally have low test so someone with higher test naturally may need larger dosages to see the same benefit...Interesting thought! My other thought is that could it differ by body types, like ecto vs meso vs endo?

Take some pics...I would love to see what a LBM increase of 45lbs in a single cycle looks like.

DOnt quote me on this ... but I believe I read somewhere on here, that that is the only reason that Deca was ever manufactured. To be a test .. without the sides.

Test is the ONLY steroid that I get side effects from (that I have used). It makes me shed worse than winny. When I run it now, it is a small baseline just for mojo purposes only.

You are onto something big time there, Hammer. Everyone reacts differently due to various factors. Right now, I do have borderline low test. I haven't cycled for over a year and a half. That's my reasoning for my huge gain over this cycle. I really love how everyone on this site makes a point on knocking a brotha's dick in the dirt when he mentions doing something like I eluded to earlier. If you go back and re-read my post, I said "keeping my bodyfat in check". To me, that means, not getting much fatter than I currently am. My weight gain will definitely not be all lean mass. I would have to be a fucking idiot to think that I could do that on just a gram a week.

just out of curiosity have you ever run a test only cycle..no dbol no var no drol just test? if you havent theres no way for you to determine that the dbol gave you the gains and the test didnt if your taking them at the same time..water can be controlled with adex so theres no need to bloat up although some water helps to push heavier weights..

Actually I was and still am taking test cyp (long ester) and gained the first 7lbs within the first 10 days while taking liquidex at .5mg eod with 300mg B6. I started dbol first and injected 200mg of test 5 days after I started dbol...So having the 2 year knowledge of AAS that I have, I know it was all dbol for long esters don't show those kind of results in 4 to 5 days!

What does your typical cycle look like Mavy?
 
At the risk of sounding like a complete doorknob why would you recommend against using test as a only?

You would get some gains with a slight increase of a test product in your body wouldn't you? I'm aware that by stacking you will get maximum benefits but wouldn't 500mgs weekly of test give some decent results?

That's what I'm bringing to the table for from what I've been seeing and hearing many have been kind of disappointed from test only cycles and have claimed better results when stacked with dbol, deca, tren and so on! I believe in getting the most out of each cycle not just some decent results for decent is in the eye of the beholder and I got decent results from prohormones and creatine...I decided to cycle because I'm aiming to get up another 25lbs or so as quickly and with the least amount of bf as possible (meaning not fucking 3 to 5 years from now), however, I could do that anyway, but of course it would take me longer. I'm not saying that test is totally bad...I'm just bringing to the table the question that is test really as good alone as we think or recommend to each newbie that comes to this board? If someone has a good arguement then that's what I'm looking for, but I'm looking for facts not "well if you only produce 77mg of test weekly then 400mg will do alot" because that's not all true..at least from what I'm seeing and have been seeing for awhile now!

For example, I'm using bromo right now -- everyone gets sides from bromo...nope not me, and my sexdrive is up!

no doubt dbol will give immediate results which is the reason why people use it in the beginning of a cycle..have you ever used more than 200 mg of test/wk? my opinion is that 200mg/wk really will not yield significant gains for most people..

i replied to a thread of yours awhile back about how you had no gains on test..if i remember right your diet was totally inappropriate..you were eating below maintenance and expecting to blow up!!!

We all know that diet/training/gear/rest play a significant role while training, but I think Hammer is looking for peeps who have done Test. alone and what type of gains it has givin them. It sounds like most of the gains have not been from Test. alone but when stacked, or it could be like eq, where you might not see immediate gains, but in time the gains are more real(*ducks and hides from all the dbol lovers*)?

Where is all the peeps who said they used was Sust, or Prop. by itself?

Nevertheless, Test is CRAP IMO.

Fina, Var, Winny, EQ (although the anxiety killed me last time), and d-bol are all i'll ever run.

test is what i use i have used it alone and have used it with other gear..in fact im going to be running icns soon with some var at the end..but i could jsut as easily run it without the var and make gains..if your using real gear i dont see how you cant be gaining off test..not liking test and/or getting bad sides from test is a completely different story..yes some will experience bad sides even at 500mg/wk..it sounds idiotic when someone says im running 700mg of test and im not making gains..assuming you know what your doing these statements do not make sense..it would hold more merit if those that hated test said the gains compared to the sides just arent worth it for me..

I've been training for off and on for 10years and know my body like a pro...Training is not the issue for me nor has it ever been. My diet is solid and always have been.

5:00am - 55g whey mixed with 100g no sugar carb

8:30am - 80g grits( I hate oatmeal), 250g egg whites, 5 strawberries

11:30am- 2 baked potatoes (little butter), 55g whey protein, 40g (unsalted peanuts), 1 tablespoon flaxseed oil

2:30pm - 100g pasta, bowl of spinach, with vinaigrette

5:30pm - 80g rice, 150g lean beef (under 10%)

workout
9:00pm - post workout 8ozs grape juice, 55g whey

11:30pm - 150g broiled chicken breast, 120g yams, bowl of spinach, 30g whey protein, teaspoon flaxseed oil.

approx 140ozs water

400g carbs, 300g protein, 90g fat = 3,600 cals daily...3 times a week I take it up to 4200cals and rotate fish, beef, peanuts...can't eat dairy products...Same diet I used at the beginning and have increased it up to 4600 cals until I noticed my six pack leaving for I like muscle not fat. I know my shit, I'm like a tank when it comes to training and dieting...Making gains is not the issue for I'm a true hardgainer anyway and don't expect things to be that different with AAS...test is the issue...All my gear comes from the same 2 sources and I only use BD products except for the russian dbols. The test is real shit because being that my nuts are about the size of a pea right now, I wouldn't be able to fuck my wife as often as I can. EQ is real because my vascularity is off the snizzy, with the sickly hunger feelings(not the best feeling in the world). What I've gotten from the increase in test from 200 to 600 is more pimples on my back and shoulders...Strength is consistant, but I felt stronger on dbol(like if I flexed I could break my own damn bones strong...that's dbol bro!).

I would shrink on that diet...thats why some people gain off test, and others don't, we all respond to different things. This is why some hate deca and others love it...or others bulk on 3500 cals and others 5000 cals.

We're gettin off the subject here. Diet is not the issue...I've already put on 12lbs off this diet in 4-5 weeks. I believe in optimized diets for muscle builiding not just gaining weight...Yes I can easily bump my cals up to 5000 and have the appetite to handle it, but that don't guarantee muscle gain, but you can bet it will guarantee fat! Most guys dump in 5000 to 8000 cals because they really aren't that good at dieting for optimum muscle building and yes once your body is use to eating that much, it will adjust to want it all the time...Gaining 30lbs (18lbs fat and water) just to have to diet down the next cycle doesn't impress me...My body fat has yet to move off 8% and I've already gone from 153lbs to 180lbs since last year, but that also included not juicing! This is about test only cycles and so far no one has stepped up to say that a test only cycle has done alot being that most of us either stack it or aren't very pleased with the results...As I said before, majority of may gains started with dbol (9lbs), yes I've placed on another 3lbs since ending dbol and just have EQ/test in me right now with that, I'll be running an experiment in another week by running another 3-4 week cycle of dbol at 30mg and if I begin to gain again, then I just may have my answer!
Just curious would you prefer...180lbs @ 8%bf or 200lbs @ 16%bf?

Actually I was and still am taking test cyp (long ester) and gained the first 7lbs within the first 10 days while taking liquidex at .5mg eod with 300mg B6. I started dbol first and injected 200mg of test 5 days after I started dbol...So having the 2 year knowledge of AAS that I have, I know it was all dbol for long esters don't show those kind of results in 4 to 5 days!
how much did you gain on this cycle after pct? did you continue with just 200mg/wk???

The cycle is not over yet...After ending dbol (week 3)...I bumped up test to 600mg and is currently in week 9 of 16.

so this is your first go around with test? i would have ran the 5 or 600mg/wk right from the beginning..i have never used cyp only enanth but it should be kicking in soon remeber too you will need to keep bumping up your cals..reserve your judgement after the cycle is over..im sure mavy will agree that he did gain on test but he just doesnt like the sides..i cannot argue with his reasoning for running low doses if any test at all..trust me you will see gains..just keep plugging away..
