I propose that you guys sneak a pair of dial calipers into your research subjects. One end of the caliper will go into one hole, the other in the other hole and then take that measurement. This method would be the most accurate. Besides, if she asks just say its a sex toy.

Be sure to clean the calipers too, dont want contamination
