Is Mossberg a good brand of shotguns??

I just bought another gun, I've got a Glock 9mm and I wanted to get a 12 gauge for a back up(you never know).

I picked up this one http://www.mossberg.com/pcatalog/Law.htm

Its the pistol grip pump(no stock), Is this a reliable gun?? It looks to be well made. I have'nt shot it yet but it looks fuckin intimidating.

Anyone ever shot a pistol grip 12 ga before??

I guess I dont understand your ? Back up for what? Also Mossberg is lower end shotguns that does not mean they are not good tho!

they're fine. and if you've never shot a pistol-grip before, hang on tight! seriously, it is going to have some kick, and it might jump up and hit you in the face. i've seen a guy get his two front teeth knocked out the first time he fired a pistol-grip shotgun.

a back up for home protection, in case the glock jammed(not likely). I had a couple of ghetto thugs try to break my apt. one time while I was home, so I'm paranoid about shit like that.

If you are referring to home protection you have it backwards. The shotgun should be your primary and the Glock would be your backup. Of course, a 9mm is not a primary or a secondary, it's practice gun (not flamin', just my philosophy).

Do they jump up or back? or does it depend on the load. Also, Was he trying to shoot it one handed or something??

I guess your one of those guys that think you have to have a Desert eagle in order to do damage. Not flaming either but I've never understood why people say that.

The gun will jump up like any other gun, Also 1911 is 100% correct the shotgun is way better home protection!

True, I guess I never thought about it before, I just like having 18 or more shots to fire. But you guys are right, you would have a lot better chance of hitting an intruder with a shotgun.

No, placement is everything regardless of the caliber. My statement is based on research and anecdotal evidence from sources I respect.
