Is it Wrong To kill Coyotes?

I shot one this weekend while hunting for deer and quail. I use to kill everything when I was younger but as I have gotten older I have had a change of heart about killing God's animals unless it is for food. So the reason I shot the coyote is because they kill not only small deer and quail but also small cows. So I wondering what ya'lls opinion is about killing varments?

Calves. "Small Cows" are called calves unless you are talking about miniature cattle which is a whole other subject.

We have a sport here which I am sure you would love. First you get yourself a whole kennel of greyhounds and train them to hunt coyotes, then you get yourself a pickup truck (one that is already beat to hell because it will be a junk pile when you are done), next you load up your dogs, a few of your closest redneck friends, a case or so of Budweiser and head out in search of coyotes. It is really cool if you have a friend who has an airplane to spot for you and it works best if there is a good covering of snow on the ground. When you spot the coyote you set the dogs loose, throw it in gear a drive like hell. When it is all over you will have a dead coyote and hopefully your dogs won't be too torn up. Where I live this is more or less necessary but the enjoyment some folks get out of it just escapes me.

Especially in areas of Texas where there are cattle on the land you will see coyotes hung by their tails to the fence posts.

Also, it works...they stay away...apparently it spooks the shit out of them to find a relative dead and hanging from a post in the middle of the country.
