if i am benching 285 now, do u think i could get 300 by august 15? its my goal for football lift off and im startin to question if i could do it or not...also ne tips or suggestions that would help me meet this goal

I definitely think that is possible for you. Just hammer the hell out of those triceps, extra tri work I think contributed to atleast 30-40lbs on my bench within the last couple of months. And I dont mean kickbacks and stuff like that. Also keep the distance short man. This means a wide grip when you are going for that max, as well as pressing in a straight line. Good luck!

Try alternating heavy days and light-high rep days on your chest. This always gets me over my plateau. Do 4 sets of 15,12,12,12 on all your chest exercises at light weight. You should be struggling on that 4th set of 12, but get 12 out or you have too much weight... and you should be dying by the end of your workout.
:p

Of course it is possible. Benching 315 isn't out of reach...

You must have the right program though...

Your goal is def. possible. It would help to know your stats and how long you have been benching 285 for, but to go up 15 lbs in a month and a half is good progress but not unachievable as long as you have the right training program(and diet).

my workout is flat bench-185 12x 205-11x 225-6x 250-4x with help
incline db press 3 sets of 6-8
lincline hammer press 3 sets of 4-6
dips
and i work tris really hard with closegrips

Quit working out like a bodybuilder. You are doing way too many reps to be properly gaining strength. Go to elitefts.com and find the articles big bad bench, how to bench 600 easy, 9 week basic training program, and train along those lines.

I use the westside program and have put at least 150 lbs on my bench in the last year. And I was benching mid 300's before I ever even started the westside program.

Work your upper back and triceps to death. Move the bar as fast as possible. Pinch your shoulderblades together so you have a firm base and are shortening the stroke, and push in as straight a line as possible.

Read the articles. Do what they say. No gym has ever produced so many world record holders.
