Hi... I have been following the diet given out by "The one Crumcake" and I'm in my 8th week. I started out at about 160 and now I'm down to 150. (Btw I'm 5'8") I'm slowly beginning to see my my abs and I have a lot more definition. That's what I wanted. However now, when people see me, to tend tell me how I have lost weight and how I look skinny. I'm sick and tired of it!! I want my 10lbs back but in lean muscle mass so that I will still see my abs. Right now I eat no complex carbs. I have eliminated bread, pasta, rice oatmeal, etc. I don't want to carb up to gain weight but I want to look bigger. Help me out please and thanks in advance for the replies:fro:

Well if your doing this all natural thne you need more carbs to gain lean muscle mass. You have to gain strength before you get size and you need more carbs than what you take in on dietng to get stronger. So no don't plan on putting on 10lbs of muslce and seeing your abs while doing it.

Yes, It's possible to gain 10lb LBM and more without steroids.
With a diet of Low GI carbs, good fat and lots of protein will make you add 10lb, while holding fat away. One thing though, It will take some time...Do your morningcardio and wait 1 hour postworkout before you eat anything and you will be able to gain the mass. I'm an Easygainer my self(don't know if you are..) so for me a low GI diet, lots of protein(2g per LB) and healty fat helps me adding mass and to keep fat away. I do my morning cardio 4 times per week and workout 4 times per week in the gym. If I eat to much of the high GI carbs I will start adding fat like crazy. There are as I wrote a few TIPS and TRIX you can use while bulking to keep the fat away. Low GI carbs, Flax Seed oil, High protein(casein before bedtime, whey one hour post workout), morning cardio and also to wait one hour post workout before you eat. This will help you burn fat away. For me this really helps, and maybe also for you. Do not overtrain, when you feel burned out, tired and lack of energi, then take a break. If you notice that you are gaining more and more fat, then take a week off from the bulking and start cutting(just lower calorie intake) and in the end of the cuttingweek, you will have lost the fat you gained(you wont loose any muscles in a week if you are eating like you should and not overdoing cardio).

Hope this helps..(sorry for the spelling)

Are you sure the people making the skinny comments aren't just looking at your face and not your body? Dieting can cause your face to look slightly gaunt.

I think you should do high-volume, extremely low-intensity cardio to minimize fat gain on a bulking diet.

Thanks for the replies... right now it is impossible for me to do any morning cardio... however, sometimes even when I'm tired I still drag myself to the gym. I may be overtraining a bit. You might be right. My face does seem a little gaunt compared to before because the rest seems of my mesurements seem the same( except my waste). I really would like my ten 10lbs back but as I said... without the fat!!! I also try to eat something evry two hours or so and my protein intake is quite o.k. Btw won't cardio make me lose some muscle mass? How long before I can expect to see any results.?? Once again thanks for the replies !!!

CARDIO= EVIL just eat clean :) its all about diet Man,dont do cardio everyday like 2x a week is fine,DIET main priority

wow you were on the onecrums diet and only lost ten pounds in eight weeks. Sounds like you were close to being ripped to begin with or you didn't stick to it very well or I'm just ignorant of what dieting is

were you on the original diet or the modified?
what would you say your bf is after 8 weeks?
what was your bf before you started this diet?

the reason I ask is cause I've just started a few days ago myself

Peace

Actually, I don't think you should do too much cardio, either. If you do it, though, low-intensity will minimize muscle-loss, and high-volume will hasten fat-loss. Not exactly great for bulking, though. I don't think you can gain 10 lbs of muscle w/o gaining fat, either.

To answer some questions I would say that I was pretty ripped to begin with... I did the diet to lose some fat around my waist.. however I find it hard to believe that I can't put on 10lbs without putting on fat... I don't want to bulk up and then have to cut afterwards.... there must be some other way??? Btw... how much flax seed oil should I take per day and why does it help to reduce fat??? Is drinking a lot of water really that important??? Thanks for the help guys!!!!

Yes, water is that important. It allows the body to dispose of some waste products from the repair process before being stored as fat or toxins and keeps your muscles hydrated. If you ever get a deep muscle massage after a few months of lifting and you don't drink a lot of water, you will feel ill for a day or so due to the toxins coming out of the muscle. It's hard for the body to repair itself when you have a buildup of toxins in the muscle cells.
Flax seed oil is rich in mono and poly fats. These are the so called "good fats". Good fats will reduce your chlosterol levels and clean your blood vessels reducing the the amount of fat you store in your body. It's also good for production of Test which is crucial for building mass.
Keep in mind that Weider's rule of thumb for adding 10 lbs of lean mass is: You will have to add 1 inch to your bicep to see an increase of 10 lean body lbs. In other words 10 lbs of lean mass will take a long time naturally. You won't see it for a few months maybe a year of extreme dedication.
