When my daughter (19 months) is done eating, She just spits out the food. No matter where she is. Just plop down on the furniture, floor, whatever. Can`t they just NOT TAKE THAT LAST SPOONFULL?

My begging and pleading does`nt seem to help as she pushes the last pieces of food out of her mouth with her tongue.

Anyone else like this? Or Do I have a crazed child on my hands?

you might wanna try noting how much of what does she eat, and then give her a bit less.

Sorry to tell you, but all babies do that. It's natural. Don't worry, she'll learn to stop taking that last bite when she's full; it just takes time. That portion of her brain has not developed yet. It'll be alright, just have a little patience.

Well it`s my first kid, I could make mistakes. lol We eat on the couch sometimes. Not we but her.

Ylifter is correct. Eat at the table - PERIOD. She will be getting crumbs and spilling drinks all over the house and it can be quite frustrating to the person who has to clean it up. Besides there is no reason for her to wander around with food on a regular basis.

As for the spitting out thing... Does she feed herself at all? Shouldn't she be old enough to have food put in front of her in her high chair and for her to feed herself? Why are you still spoon feeding her? If she can feed herself (Yes, it will be VERY MESSY) she will decide on her own.

Try it.

Then instead of spitting food out she will just play with her food when she is done. Then you take it away and say, "OK, now you are done." Clean her up and send her on her merry way to turn the rest of the house into a shambles! LOL

LOL my beautiful niece (her middle name is Bella) does this thing where when she is done she starts shoving the food into her mouth she ends up looking like a chipmunk. And she isnt chewing it to eat it or anything, she is like storing it in there LOL kinda funny but thats how they know when she is really done eating. Dude, its about fucking time for you to read up on childrearing. All this yappin about "my kid this", "my kid that", shit, I dont even have any kids and I know all these typical things that all kids do that you keep posting about. Im just saying this as friendly advice, otherwise you are going to get tagged as "that annoying hey how about my kid" guy, and you dont want that, believe me.

I believe I once read that a baby absorbs food at almost the same rate throught the skin on the face as it does via the intestine. Dont drown her now in the stuff but prehaps it might explain it a little.
