For some reaon though I would not be caught DEAD in Kmart. What is up with that?LOL
ksharp01 said:I feel like I'm forced to shop there because everywhere else around here has shut down. The hassells all start from the parking lot....lucky if you can find a decent spot without being ran into first. Then getting into store without being run down. Then going down the isles without getting run down.
My son hates to go because I embarrase him....I will hollar out, watch out son the grown ups here are worst then the kids and knock you down if you don't move.
It isn't a social club, why are people always in there shooting the shit blocking the isles with their buggies and 10 screaming kids??
oh yeah, I so fucking hate that place!!!
heatherrae said:It's the only thing close to me now. I used to NEVER go to WalMart and hated it. Now I go because it is the only thing convenient. I love target, though.
BIKINIMOM said:LOL Somebody need an afternoon at the spa?
BIKINIMOM said:What is it about Target that makes it so much better than Walmart?
That is the general consensus though... that Target is cool while Walmart just seems to be smart when buying certain items that are "necessary".

ksharp01 said:The nearest Target is in Baton Rouge, which is pretty close if you take the interstate but not even an option at times I could go...after work traffic is a deal breaker! Besides that I find them higher priced as well.

ksharp01 said:the way Denham Springs it growing, it's just a matter of time I'm sure. They are in process of building a bass pro shop here and new resturants are popping up, roads are extending and a new on/off ramp to the interstate has just been completed.

My hubby ribs me every time we drive by the exit for "Bass Pro Shop"... "hunney you wanna go there fer a date?!"
(No joke, I was flown from Paris, France to Oklahoma City, OK for what pretty much equated to just *that*)
blueta2 said:Everytime I go to Walmart, I always swear I will never go back. Trashy welfare, toothless, largely overweight, spandex wearing ppl shop there.
Anyway, I was there today ;-)
They need to make the aisles larger. us fat toothless ppl cannot get through so easy.
Their cat stuff and panties are what I usually get there. Oh and my slimfast

jackangel said:that's an interesting question, the idea of brand identity, etc. i think target has made serious changes to the way it advertises, its style, etc. over the last few years. they use these celebrity spots to promote, have famous designers to do some of their product lines, etc.
i don't know about the actual quality of the products in the stores, but i also 'feel' that it would be superior at target.

Can't bust on Wal-mart for doing it the best.
jnevin said:I've only been in a Walmart maybe three times in my life. I don't like it. I usually buy most all my stuff at Costco once a month and then buy a ton of chicken when Albertson's sells the chx bewbs for 1.29/ lb.

Ever been to the one on Rt 13 in New Castle? That Walmart is bad....
Target has more "upscale" things IMO....I like both - but Walmart is more for household items & I LOVE their workout clothes.....
But their Xbox360 and Samsung/Sony LCD flat panels are the same as everyone elses.alien amp pharm said:Their grocery prices can't be beat, so I shop there for groceries.
Stuff like electronics, tools, etc. I buy at other item-related places because Walmart usually carries junk.
jerkbox said:Columbus Blvd.....talk about filthy....i think there is a cop parked outside of that walmart permanantly.

my hometown of 4k has multiple grocery shops, including walmart and some local places.beefcake28 said:I agree... Wal-Mart is very good at what it does. I'm not arguing that.
At the same time, it's sad. For example, growing up in Wisconsin, all you had to do was drive through a few of the smaller towns, and you'd see that the only option for them was to go to Wal-Mart, or drive a long ass way to another city. That's it. No more "Mom & Pop" shops like there used to be, where you get good service by someone who knows your name... They're all closed now.
