Is It Just Me Or Does Everybody Hate Wal Mart

Its like going to the zoo, but instead of animals its meth heads. I'll go every once in awhile for shits and giggles.

obviously it's only a minority of people that hate wallmart.

Everyone uses wallmart for something or other so I can't see that many people hating it or they'd stop using it.

ever been to the walmart in south philly?

:lmao:

I was going to give Walmart kudos for employing a lot of people that other places would not employ ie: seniors and handicapped adults.

I like Target better but Walmart is cool.

For some reaon though I would not be caught DEAD in Kmart. What is up with that?LOL

I like Target better but Walmart is cool. --- everyone seems to agree.

Their grocery prices can't be beat, so I shop there for groceries.

Stuff like electronics, tools, etc. I buy at other item-related places because Walmart usually carries junk.

I feel like I'm forced to shop there because everywhere else around here has shut down. The hassells all start from the parking lot....lucky if you can find a decent spot without being ran into first. Then getting into store without being run down. Then going down the isles without getting run down.
My son hates to go because I embarrase him....I will hollar out, watch out son the grown ups here are worst then the kids and knock you down if you don't move.
It isn't a social club, why are people always in there shooting the shit blocking the isles with their buggies and 10 screaming kids??

oh yeah, I so fucking hate that place!!!

It's the only thing close to me now. I used to NEVER go to WalMart and hated it. Now I go because it is the only thing convenient. I love target, though.

What is it about Target that makes it so much better than Walmart?

That is the general consensus though... that Target is cool while Walmart just seems to be smart when buying certain items that are "necessary".

The nearest Target is in Baton Rouge, which is pretty close if you take the interstate but not even an option at times I could go...after work traffic is a deal breaker! Besides that I find them higher priced as well.

I hate the fucking palce too. I was thinkign about making a thread about it yesterday.

I go there for very specific reasons.

Everytime I do, I feel poor.

The closest one to my house is dirty and makes me feel ghetto.

Insert jokes about the ghetto I live in here.

damn.... it seems that here in the Dallas metroplex (was this way in Jersey too) you can't fart without hitting either of them.

the way Denham Springs it growing, it's just a matter of time I'm sure. They are in process of building a bass pro shop here and new resturants are popping up, roads are extending and a new on/off ramp to the interstate has just been completed.

Good Lord!

My hubby ribs me every time we drive by the exit for "Bass Pro Shop"... "hunney you wanna go there fer a date?!"

(No joke, I was flown from Paris, France to Oklahoma City, OK for what pretty much equated to just *that* :worried: )

It was a big to do around here! This is after all called the sportmans paradise.
We had to actually vote if we wanted it here or not. Something to do with taxes and the schools and shit.
These damn rednecks would of course pick the Bass Pro Shop over the schools...lol
Seriously though, I voted it through as well because I felt it would bring more businesses and money to the area.

Everytime I go to Walmart, I always swear I will never go back. Trashy welfare, toothless, largely overweight, spandex wearing ppl shop there.
Anyway, I was there today ;-)

They need to make the aisles larger. us fat toothless ppl cannot get through so easy.
Their cat stuff and panties are what I usually get there. Oh and my slimfast

that's an interesting question, the idea of brand identity, etc. i think target has made serious changes to the way it advertises, its style, etc. over the last few years. they use these celebrity spots to promote, have famous designers to do some of their product lines, etc.

i don't know about the actual quality of the products in the stores, but i also 'feel' that it would be superior at target.

I always go after 9:00 pm, it's much better. Waaay less crowded. I'm too impatient to go there when it's crowded. Otherwise I go to Jewel occassionally.

When in the US. I shopped at both Target and WalMart. The quality is the same, but the aisles are larger, more sales staff and just a classier looking place.
That was my take when I was there. But what do I know, I'm Canadian and we still shop at the general store in town to get our buffalo meat

Both of them are like 60-70 minutes away and the Walmart is truly scary - aside from being a filty pitt the people there freak me out - we'll go there to pick up dog kibble and kitty treats.

Target is clean, has a better selection of the product we buy up that way.

Most of our bulk shopping is over at BJ's - the other two are just for the item BJ's doesn't have.

I like Walmart....I hate the people who shop there during the daytime. The ones with no job and smell like cat piss while wearing clothes that need to be burned.

I buy all my crap like soap, paper towels, cat food, etc from there.

Dipshit. This is why Wal-Mart keeps expanding... They run out the smaller businesses, forcing people to shop there. People aren't "voting with their pocket books"... they shop there because that's the only option that's left, with the exception being the bigger cities.

Where the eff is it?? Downtown Chester? I can't imagine......

Ever been to the one on Rt 13 in New Castle? That Walmart is bad....

Target has more "upscale" things IMO....I like both - but Walmart is more for household items & I LOVE their workout clothes.....

Any city around with 30,000 people and up have at least 3 choices, Jewel, Target, and Wal-Mart.

Can't bust on Wal-mart for doing it the best.

I agree... Wal-Mart is very good at what it does. I'm not arguing that.

At the same time, it's sad. For example, growing up in Wisconsin, all you had to do was drive through a few of the smaller towns, and you'd see that the only option for them was to go to Wal-Mart, or drive a long ass way to another city. That's it. No more "Mom & Pop" shops like there used to be, where you get good service by someone who knows your name... They're all closed now.

I've only been in a Walmart maybe three times in my life. I don't like it. I usually buy most all my stuff at Costco once a month and then buy a ton of chicken when Albertson's sells the chx bewbs for 1.29/ lb.

Columbus Blvd.....talk about filthy....i think there is a cop parked outside of that walmart permanantly.

Walmart is in my hometown, but target was about to buy a lot to build a new store across town, and walmart bought it out from under them just so they couldnt take away business. Now its a big empty lot.

But their Xbox360 and Samsung/Sony LCD flat panels are the same as everyone elses.

yes, and pretty much the same price as other stores.

I only support WalMart when I benefit from it, not when I can find the same thing somewhere else for close to the same price.

I don't like big Corps. becoming a monopoly, like beefcake28 was talking about.

There's always hot chicks in Target at any given time.

Then you find scrubs like HR in there too.

Aw jesus, Chester? That place is a pit. One of my friends lived there his freshman year because he got a 2 br apt for like $450/ mo. He got robbed every week for the first 3 weeks he lived there.

I have never heard of Jewel.

I like wal-mart just not at 5pm or Holiday time. I buy all of my household cleaners there...laundry, bathroom, kitchen, floors, etc... I also buy most of my groceries there. Not too often the meats though. I prefer to hit up a local meat market to get fresh meat. ;)

my hometown of 4k has multiple grocery shops, including walmart and some local places.
walmart has not completely decimated the local grocer

i think most people like target because its walmarts competitor, and everyone roots for the underdog!!!

No, not all... but far too many, IMO.

Walmart - depends on which one - there was a great one that opened a few yrs ago in Pompano Beach, FL - all the rich old Jewish ladies from Boca Raton would come down to shop. So many of them are trashy as shit tho.

Target has been making a very conscious effort to move their 'target market' up a bit - between the two I definitely prefer Target but I've been to some pretty trashy Targets too.

The biggest issue w/ Walmart is it is just never a quick trip in & out. And sometimes there are just some damn creepy people there.

if so many hate it - why do so many shop there?

don't believe the critics. if people hated it, their stores wouldnt' be packed everywhere. thier shit is cheap. point blank.

jewel/osco is def a midwest thing

I just saw a Sullivans for the first time driving around today, don't know if that is a midwest thing or not, but it looked exactly like a Jewel
