Those "property of *insert gym name or clothing line name here*"
shirts kinda drive me a lil bit nuts.
Maybe I put 2much thought into it (like most things) but hey, I'm workin on it...
But yea, so, you bust your a** at the gym, keep your diet in check, reap the rewards of your dicipline and hard work ....... then wear stuff saying your are "property of" a gym or clothing line?
Seriously. WHY?
Paying a membership fee at a gym does NOT give you results. Only YOU should get credit for what you are and how you got there.
24 hour fitness, Gold's Gym (these shirts are EVERYWHERE) did NOT hand you a better body in a bag when you signed up.
ABERCROMBIE does not make you look good in an Abercrombie shirt. If you look good in any shirt ..... shouldn't YOU get the credit?
Those "Property of Ambercrombie" shirts drive me MADDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!
Personally, I have always been a big fan of Adidas .... but I wouldn't wear a "Property of Adidas" shirt. When I was on the cross country team in high school, I had a "Property of ME" shirt. It was actually a nike shirt. I loved that shirt, plus, gained some respect of Nike for making a shirt saying "Property of ME" instead of "Property of Nike". It wasn't enough to make me trade in my Adidas supernovas for Nike shox .... but I have thought more highly of Nike since having found that shirt.
Keep in mind: I was only 17 when I found the shirt and now, I'm 30..... so it made quite the impression since it stuck with me.
If it doesn't say, "Body by ME" or "Property of ME", I'm not going to wear it... anywhere.
Has anyone else ever had a similiar thought about these shirts?
If so, please discuss.
If not, I appreciate you taking the time to read my rant. thanx.

I'd never seen the articles of clothing that you speak of, though I am certain they exist.

When I am in the weight room or using free weights I look more like a thug than anything else: worn, torn old harley T's that belong to my husband. In the pool, I wear (what else) a bikini!

There was a time when I was so concerned about "my look" in the gym. No more... those days are so long gone that I hardly remember. It's interesting but every now and again I will see some newly divorced female (who is stunning, but just doesn't know it) wander into the weight room and all the men DROOL and FAWN breaking their necks to *assist little old her* T'shirt tied up underneath her big ass boobs and wanting to lick the backs of her thighs oh-so-exposed by her bootie shorts. Then I throw up 45# dumbbells unassisted for 7 to 10 righteous reps, drop them to the ground then do a set of push-ups to failure. Odd, but all the men seem to RUN away....

:D I kinda dig that.... or maybe it's just me?!

I agree with your gym dressing. I'm the same way. Honestly, I dress the same just about everywhere. I only wear makeup or do my hair maybe once a month. I'm a real jeans and t-shirt kinda girl if I'm just hanging out at home or with friends or at school.
As far as the gym, anything comfortable(sweats, shirts without sleeves) as long as it doesn't stink, lol. Hell, it's probably been over a year since I put ANYTHING on my hair that wasn't shampoo.
When I was in high school, I was FAR from girlie. I was really into boxing and it was a new sport for females back then. I was the only female at my gym and wasn't really allowed to act "girlie". They would have tossed me out by my pony-tailed hair if I would have shown up wearing nail polish. The only time it bothered me was when people started to group me in with the guys....COMPLETELY. At first, it was cool because the girls on my cross country team would ask me stuff like, "how do I get abs like urs?" but it kinda started to bother me when I was about 16-17 and started to "like" boys. They never even considered me for ANYTHING except guy stuff(working out, jokes, just hanging out, paintball and so on) I probably wouldn't have went on a date if they asked .... but it bothered me that I was so much considered to be "one of the guys" that I seemed to be completed isolated to "boy stuff".
Long story .... but yea. I still keep it simple and comfy at the gym and don't go to look perty.:D
Anywayz, these are the types of shirts I was talking about:

I see them EVERYWHERE and they just bother me.

You are soooo right! I never understood why anyone wants to advertise any product for free.

I live very close to the Abercrombie store on 5th ave in the city, and you should see the line people make JUST to get in the store. Half a block long, wtf?

Anyway, I also feel disdain, LOL! for people who wear sunglasses, and handbags screaming the designer's names, such as Chanel and D&G. I just refuse to do it. I feel more comfortable with a Birkins (typical New Yorker), which doesn't have a big logo on either side.
Ok, I feel better! Sigh!

Thank you for allowing me to vent, since I'm in rare form today! LOL!

Yay for the city. I love it there. My dad was born and raised in Brooklyn. We have a family reunion every year (we all meet in Mount Kisco at a relative's house) but we ALWAYS spend a few days in the city before flying back to the midwest.:supercool

Yes, love the city too! I Have been here my whole life. We kind of get used to the speed to which it moves. Being in NYC is like putting your finger in an electric socket, LOL!
Let me know when you come, and I'll show you around!

YAY! That would be GREAT!!!
You won't need to slow down for me, either. I have always moved at a fast pace. I'm naturally a lil bit high energy, plus, my dad's pace rubbed off on me over the years,2.
Last year, I was in the city on the most busy shopping day of the year, Black Friday. The funny thing about it was that I totally forgot about it and asked why it was soooo nuts.
Yea, sometimes I can be a little absent minded.
I have never been a big fan of shopping. I mostly like to just play. I spend a ton of time just walking.... in whatever direction. Sometimes, I tag along with my dad when he goes for labor negotiations. After the work day ends, we walk around the park and go eat at Tavern on the Green.
When my mom is with us, we spend the day carrying her shopping bags and making jokes about being bored, and at night, we usually went to plays. I LOVE theatre.
Yea, a ton of good city memories.
It would be a BLAST to meet up with you and see your favorite spots.:supercool

But myway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Needto Build Muscle T-shirt from Zazzle.com

I know you will wear my shirt.

Shiiiitt.... bro, I am SOOOOOO buying one:)
Besides, its just giving props to ur name (well deserved). It isn't one of those lame ass "Property OF " shirts.
I am seriously getting a need2 shirt. Honestly, I bet u could market a whole line of EF shirts if u and George worked it out.
We have a ton of "special" people around here. With a witty phrase or idea.... yea, bro.. They would sell like hotcakes.
Plus, it would be good marketing for EF. We would be the first ones knowing about them and wearing them ..... and us EF peeps, well, we look good. We would make the shirts look good. Before long, people would want em.
But, yea.
I am SOOOO getting a need2 shirt. U have put in some YEARS of hard, QUALITY work and well worthy of having ur name across some backs.

I could pay for this. So long as I can use it for advertising ^^^^

Hmmmmm..... I AM broke. Sure, I could be a Need2 product model. Ur a solid bro with good stuff. I would do it for FREE ..... but my hubby would need to get a job, first, lol. I gotta buy diapers and stuff. Its rough. I'm sure we could work out sumthin. Just don't go gettin rich off of my pics. If so, I want, like, 3%,lol.

Yeah, shopping days are really stressful; like around christmas. Walking through 5th Ave, starting black friday, is insane. I usually walk out on the street because us New Yorkers don't have the patient to slow down behind the tourists.
Yes, it would be fun to have you here. There're tons of things to do. Just let me know what you like and I'll work an itinerary.
Central Park is the most peaceful, but where ever you go, you feel the energy. I love that!

o-yes. I LOVE Central Park. In high school, I was really into photography. Some of my best photographs were from Central Park.
I usually visit my cousin every year around July. After he finished at Columbia, he got a great place in the city. If I am able to make the trip this July, I will be sure to let you know. If not, I won't be there until The week of Thanksgiving for my family reunion. Either way, yea, we need to meet up.:D:Popcorn:

why do they bother you so much? do feel like property when you wear them? or feel it for others when you see them wearing one? i'm guessing the word "property" in this sense represents lack of will, lack of freedom, of expression, and things are property not people which means you are theirs to control( you don't have to let it mean this, you can make it something positive for all). then yeah i see why it would drive you nuts if that is how it makes you feel! but it really doesn't have to, you can easily fix this problem. i say don't let it bother you, its a waste of energy! what is, is what is. just accept that it happens....AND let it go.

lol, sorry but i am feeling good, good about me, good about the whole damn world and its been hard to see the faults in things lately.

To answer your question about how I feel when wearing one of them: I couldn't honestly tell you. I have never been willing to wear one, so I don't know.
About how I need to just "let it go": ummmm, well, yea. Duh. I prolly hear that more than the average person. I'm workin on it.
About you feelin good about YOU today: YAY! Great to hear it. Keep on doing what you're doing. I hope you get to feel great about YOU every single day.

THANK YOU! i feel wonderful and at peace. and hope the same for you, then nothing would bother you and if it does letting go is so easy after you accept. lol, i would know i feel like tons of weight has been lifted off my shoulders. good luck, though i don't know why i keep saying that since i don't believe in luck.

It would probably still happen to me. I always overthink EVERYTHING. Its kinda just a part of my personality.... but it isn't always a bad thing. Sometimes, I notice things or come up with ideas that other people don't, simply because I keep all of the unsolved as a continuous loop in my head.... but yea, it can really drive me nuts at times, 2.
I don't believe in luck, either. I do believe that people get what they deserve, good and bad. Not always immediately, but our attitudes, outlooks, efforts (or lack of) and how we treat others... yea, it all counts. BIG TIME.
Dare I ask what has lifted this weight from your shoulders?
