Is "Going to the Movies" a waste of time?

I love going to the movies, but hate when it's crowded. There are always people munching away on popcorn, dumping candy out of boxes, whispering etc.... So, usually the I will only go to see the first showing of the day, because there is barely anyone in the theater.



What I like to enjoy is home theater....but damn, my DVD bill never stops growing.

I love movies. Nothing better than when you've trained hard all week than going to a movie with your g/f. I like to pig out on Ben & Jerry's and popcorn after dieting all week long. Saw Evolution this weekend - excellent film, I'd recommend it.

Dad died a couple of years ago, and mom got depressed and issolated.
So I try to spend more time with her, but what do you do to entertain a senior?
She sure doesn't want to go to the gym and lift plates. So we go to a movie once a week.
It's either that or mall shopping and its just plain wierd for a guy standing around
the Penny's bra department waiting while your mom's in the dressing room.
At first she was only up for pablum Disney fluff but increasingly I've challenged her
with more sophisticated movies. She handles foreign films
just fine, but still can't go for violent action flicks.
Friday and Saturday evening is the worst time to go cause the theater is packed with date nite couples,
Sunday afternoon, evening is the best. Got the place to ourselves.
