Is Creatine Affecting My Medication?

I take mobic 7.5 mgs a day to subdue the inflamation of a herniated disk in my back. When inflamed, pressure is put on my sciatic nerve and that is extremely painful. I am using a new creatine, NOS BLAST, and since I started drinking it, my meds arent doing the trick. Can barely walk sometimes due to the pain. This has been going on for about a week. Considering stopping the creatine just to see, but I really hate to do that. Anyone ever heard of anything like this?

NitrO2 Blast is a hemodilator / volumiser supplement. It contains 5000 mg of dicreatine malate / creatine monohydrate, 2000 mg of L-arginine, and 1900 mg of taurine/mix.

Mobic is classed as an NSAID (non-steroid anti-inflammatory drug).

Creatine based supplements should not be used with any NSAIDs as this may put your kidneys under undue stress.

The L-arginine is metabolised to form nitric oxide (NO) within the body but this should not pose a problem as many NSAID's are now being combined with NO to reduce the dosage and possible side effects.

The taurine should not be a problem either as its intake is sometimes encouraged with certain NSAID's to improve their effectiveness.

The pain you are experiencing could be the result of your body overcompensating for the additional presence of the nitric oxide or the presence of the creatine and the volumisation of cells is putting pressure on adjoining tissues but that would just be a guess. Regardless, you should discontinue using Mobic or any other NSAID's while you are using the creatine or visa/versa.
