right now i'm chowing on some chili that my grandma made last night for dinner. it's over noodles, i don't have a ton of chili, more noodles for the carbs. i'm just wondering if homemade chili is bad? i don't know all that went in, it's got kidney beans, ground beef, celery, onions, maybe tomatoes...just curious.

it tastes damn good if you are wondering ;)

Depends how its made. I cooked up a storm the other night and made enought to last me for 1 week. It has xtra lean ground beef, black beans, low sodium diced tomatoes, low sodium tomato paste, chili powder, onions and peppers. Low in fat and carbs and tastes great!

it was probably cooked along those lines, my grandpa has a blood pressure problem so his sodium intake and all that shit is regulated by my grandma...so i'm guessing it's done in the heart healthy manner. plus she knows that i am into eating healthy (wish my parent's would understand that) and she's been here cooking for us and making some damn good shit...

i love having her here :D

I love chilli. Depends how it's made though, as I understand it Texan style chilli has a shit load of sugar in it.......

Those jallope's may have a small thermogenic fat burning effect.

Its not bad...

as long as you use lean turkey or beef. It has a lot of protein but also a lot of carbs (depending on how you make it).

All this talk about chilli has convinced me to make a big batch tonight! It's very healthy if made with lean meat.

I think chili is my main protein source off season. Its good shit, high in protein, and complex carbs. A little high in fat and sodium, but im bulking what do i care?
