Is all human life the same value??

I was about to write something that would have gotten me in hot water
But to paraphrase, I think in America where much of what we call "success" and "failure" seems to be based on money. Having said this , I feel Americans are vrey quick to generalize if they see someone who looks homeless or someone who's driving a mercedes

yep....although i think its human nature to generalize and judge.
i wonder if this is prevalent in the rest of the world.

at least with homeless people, it seems to be from the many places i've traveled to. unless it's a war torn country where everyone is poor.

meh, this type of attitude perpetuates sick beahaviour imo
and is a liberal fantasy
stoning adulteress, for example, is not right.
those who don't judge are nancies imo

I tend to judge sometimes...but other times, I let someone else do the judging.

Despite what we would often like to think when deciding tax policy or making decisions involving war, yes, all life, everywhere, is of equivalent value.

Sounds so much better when you said it.

*hmmph*

Cops' lives are obviously worth more than civilians', since the penalty is so much more harsh for taking one.

Next question... who says our values are better??

If providing women with equal rights, the right to choose their life partner & the right not to be stoned to death simply for having an affair or sex outside of marriage makes our values worse than others, then so be it, I'm happy to subscribe to those "inferior" values.

If the right to education & socialised medicine / basic healthcare is considered an inferior value, then so be it, I'm also happy to subscribe to these "inferior" values.

If the right to not be persecuted for your ideology (however bloody absurd it is) is considered inferior, then again, as above.

If you are a theist (believe in God) then all human life is equal.

If you are an atheist (do not believe in God) then all human life is still equal.

No.
Some lives are valued higher than others. It's naive to think otherwise.
Do I think it should be that way? Hmmm. I have conflicting viewpoints to that question.

All good questions bro. All very valid. Who is to say what or who is right. Who are we to judge.
BS!

I never go for that argument. Some things, such as murder, are so inherently wrong that I feel pretty confident in saying it is wrong!
