to spend on car stereo and a car alarm?

I went out and bought this today because I feel my car needed some sound to it,overall I think its a good purchase,but some people think im a nutter for paying that much for speakers
 
I thought you were strapped for cash bor.... if thats the case than thats money poorly spent IMO. I thought I remember you making a thread bout how your stressed about you job, money, etc.
 
If you spent $1300 on a head unit and 4 speakers, yes that's a lot of money. If you happened to purchase a head unit, 4 speakers, sub, box, amp, wiring, installation, it's a decent deal...depending on the brand of course.

If the 1300 got him a pair of good subs (JL W series) and a good amp than its not bad
 
new job bro,Im pulling mad cash now,it was that shit security job that was screwing me badly

here is what I got for 1300 canadian jvc head unit,rockford fosgate amp,kaption 12 inch sub with box,wiring for amp,2 5 1/4 alpine type s 2 way speakers, 2 6 1/2 sony explode 3 way speakers, viper security system,with pager remote and backup regular remote, no install on anything ,but I know enough about that and what I dont my buddy is gonna help me with.

and all I cant figure out is how to get the power wire past the firewall and to my amp

we paid a lot for our system...so no i dont think you paid that much.
 
awesome,I almost have it installed,hopefully I have it up and running tonight and the alarm installed asap,I dont want to tackle that one on my own even though I have a instruction book
 
plymouth acclaim,ya its a shitmobile but I love music more then driving a nice car,this works,is great on gas and is in good shape for being a 92

no thats about the going price for some half decent stuff,allthough you could spend ten times that and more

ya I believe that,my buddy has a 01 cavi lowered,tint,custom paint,custom engine parts,etc with alpine type x stereo all around powered by two 1500w amps,its the sickest and loudest car I know
 
Depends on the car. I know some guys who have all this "shit" done to their car. Stereo, rims, etc., etc. But they have a piece of shit car. Stay within your means basicly.

I'm with you on this one. I see all these guys with their piece of garbage cars that I wouldn't take for free, but it has all this half decent crap in it. That's kind of like a street bum wearing some Gucci cologne.... still gonna smell like shit.

But hey, different strokes for different folks is about right. If I were you and absolutely needed to spend that money, I would have invested it on another vehicle that would already have a decent stock stereo system.
 
no need to get anything newer,the body is in great shape and the rebuilt engine has 75 thousand km's on it,which is pretty damn good
