IPOD help......

I've heard there are programs out there to load your Ipod other than Itunes. I'm currently away from my home computer, which my Ipod is synced to.......so it's telling me that if I sync it to another computer, it will erase all the music on it. So do these other programs allow you to put songs on your Ipod without having to junk everything on it?

Is it wrong to "sometimes" want to have human interaction?? DOes life revolve around google now? Besides, I'd rather hear about these programs from people who've actually used them and that I know.......like here at EF. But thanks for the google query anyway.

I use Itunes but you can transfer files from other souces into you ipod there. I believe there is nothing else you can use but itunes and then transfer...but I could be wrong

not to hijack your thread but what happens if your computer crashes or just plain ol breaks and you have ALL your songs on itunes and your ipod. How can you recover those songs again and put them into a new computer

I believe if you tell iTunes not to sync automatically you can copy them to a new iTunes library. I once loaded a new iPod with music and gave it to someone for a gift, which she then connected to a different computer to use from then on.

I've also used a WinAmp plugin in load an Ipod.

don't act as if your initial thread wasn't at all condescending, it was and you know it. I was genuine about the thanks.........but I would also like to hear from people who've actually used the various programs. The point of my response to you was that I am intelligent enough to know that I "could" google the question, but that I purposefully posted a question here because I know there are some tech geeks here who know this shit forwards and backwards, which to me is better than a google search.

Even after looking at that link, I'm still not sure if I can save what I have on my Ipod now because it's synced with my computer back in Toronto. I'm not certain that even if I download one of these other programs, that it won't still wipe my drive clean. I realize that once I switch to one of these programs for good, than I can take my Ipod anywhere I choose.
