Well i have done very extensive research on steroids and caselaw. It differs by state. Some states break it down into doses:100 pills=1 dose, 10cc=1 dose, some states 50 pills=1dose, 2cc=1dose, some staes break it down into weight.
For instance in texas under 28g is a class A misdimeanor, 28g-100g is a state felony, over 100g falls under federal felony.
Although i respect Chesty 1 amp can not land you in jail 20 years. 95% of first time offenders will get some sort of pre-trial diversion. Drug offenders program, fine, and community service.
It also depends on the jurisdiction. If they have alot of drug cases in that area, a simple fine usually not to exceed $2000 is usually imposed. I have found that it is usually under $1000.
The bottom line is steroids is on the bottom rung of the ladder. Samll quanity possession are more likely than not reduced to a misdimeanor and a fine is imposed. There is simply not enough money to prosecute small crimes as these. Given it costs the govt about $60 a day to keep an inmate, not to mention the costa of prosecution. It is simply easier for them to give you a fine, this way they end up making money. All they care about is the money.
And this goes for all minor posession of drug cases.
Even with prior convictions, having a small amount of roids isn't gonna put you in for years. From the studying i have done from cases in california and texas as i said before 95% of first time offenders get charges dismissed. Further even if prosecution occurs fines and probation are usually enforced. from my observations of jail times misdemeanor posession conviction results best case scenario 15 days in jail to worst case 180 days. If you do it again you are looking at a year.
I am almost certain that if you are a first time offender you will not get jail time: either a pretrial diversion, fine, probation. If you were to get busted, you should probably hope it goes through the federal system, not the state system. Because as stated before there is too much traffic especially at the federal level.
Now distribution is a whole other story. Distribution is described as sale, intent to sell, promise to sell, passing along a name, giving it to someone, even handling the money. And it gets worse if you distribute to a person under 21.
And yes i did say that passing along a name is considered "distribution" and is quite scary for some people here who pass along sources names. You are distributing by sourcing, so be careful.
