It is odd that he would get bombed, I think this is a legit question. You would think that the site would never turn over info unless it was forced to do so legally. I would like to know how we can change IP addresses, I was not even aware that it could be done.

This should be a sticky. Privacy is an important issue. I also think it's something that should be protected - although it's debatable in some circles.

Any mods want to comment on how our privacy is protected here?

Several Years ago the Feds raided Elite, sopeana was issues to George to turn over members Idenities and other information,plus all the info in the servers however thanks to the paying members George refused and turned the matter over to Rick Collins.
As you can see we are still running.
One of the main Reasons right there to support this site!

Its a valid question and we all know how EF resisted calls to hand over members Id's but the way i read it he is asking for clarification of the privacey Statement which may need updating

Changing IP addresses now is pointless. You would have to do that when you decide to rejoin as another member. Right now you are logged in as who you are.

Not really Carth. Its never too late to hide yourself.
A member like you , who posts a shit load of info daily would greatly benefit from hiding their location. Look for detailed tutorial to be posted soon.
I am glad to see the interest in being secure finally show itself on this forum.
