Intro From A New Guy........

Good afternoon guys, I am new to the board and I wanted to introduce myself.

Age: 31
Height: 5’7”
Weight: 230
Body Fat %: TOO HIGH
Training: Off and on the past 5 years

Obviously, I need a lot of work. After doing a lot of research, I figured the best place to start was weight loss. I recently started a diet and light exercise program. When I started, I weighed 255 lbs. Two months later, I am “down” to 230 lbs. I am moving in the right direction. I would like to lose at least another 30 lbs before I even contemplate starting any type of steroids. Pretty much all of the extra weight I am carrying is in belly fat.

I am running on a treadmill four to five times a week (Usually 2-3 miles each time). I have a Weider Cross-Bow that a friend gave me, so I am just starting to lift weights again. My issues are I don’t really know much about cutting weight and weight training. I know even less about steroids, but the more research I do on them, the more interested I am.

If anyone wanted to take the time to help out a newbie like me and offer a diet & work out regime I could follow, I would greatly appreciate it. For instance, currently, I am not taking any supplements right now. I am no where near ready to start taking steroids, but what types of supplements should I start taking? What would be most beneficial for a guy in my position?

well first thing I would do is go get a membership to a gym with real wights and start lifting them....stick to core lifts like bench,dl,and squat.
 
btw pretty good first thread two...seems people are reading the stickies and really looking
into things before they just come out asking for juice lol

get start bro, btw! Stay diligent and the weight will come off... don't forget to drink alot of water, stay hydrated.

Seriously. The best thing you can do is learn about nutrition right now.

Learn about why the following is good for you and for what purpose they are good for

Daily Multivitamin
Flaxseed oil
Zinc
Magnesium
Glucosamine & Condroiton
Potassium
Vitamin C
Vitamin B's (All of them)
Which protien is better than the other protien & Why (Biological Value and Slow verse fast release)
Amino Acids
Why Brocolli is like one of the best vegetables for your body ever

Lots of good stuff to learn
 
Thanks for all the advice. I appreciate it. I am going to keep at it and look into the diet board. So the cross-bow is no good? I should stick with regular weights? Is there a dietary suppliment I should be taking?

yes, use free weights, do compound movements. drink a lot of water, watch ur diet and join a real gym. you can do it, good luck
 
All right, I am following your advice. I have changed my diet (A lot of great dieting info and ideas I got from here), I am running on the treadmill (2-3 miles everyday, 5 days a week to start) and I have joined a gym. Not a bad first week. Anyone else live here in Northwest Arkansas?

I view Cardio as the foundation of a bodybuilding lifestyle
