Interview Today!

Frisky

~QUEEN BITCH~
Platinum
I had my resume on a job site, and totally forgot about it with the move and all the commotion and being busy at work. Well I kept getting these calls from a number I didn't reconize. Finally one day decided to answer it. Seems its a company that is VERY interested in seeing me. I talked to the manager a few times and really wanted to wait till next year to see how things go here but he was very persisitant.

So I decided OK, I'll make my demands... I told him that I didn't want to waste his time or mine and that I was looking at a salary of X amt... (Silence) LOL.... He tells me, I'll speak to my boss and get back with you. Next day he calls and wants to see me. ;)

Well, the day of the interview I had a funeral to attend so I didn't make it. But he still didn't give up, got a call yesterday requesting that I come in today at 11:00 to see him.

Wish me luck... Not sure if this a good or bad thing, but won't know whats out there unless I go and see for myself!

i thought you already moved and took a new position...
what type of salary do you demand?
you would look hott in a bonnet

The best you luck to you Frisky.

No I passed on that job because I didn't want to move that far.

Well I'm back! Interview was great, a great company with opportunity for advancement. Its a pipeline company that does not only oil and gas pipeline but is also about to start a 6mil project for the Gov't. Amazing technology, and still growing.

*crosses fingers for you*

If its what you want, go for it! Its always better to be in the position of deicision instead of stuck hating the job situation you are in...

*sending karma to ya*

Frisk,

I hope you get the job. I have said it before, but hold out for your terms. The O&G industry is desperate for females in technical positions so they will eventually pay you what they want. Females have been screwed over for years on the pay front so now there is a kneejerk reaction for the opposite - use it to your advantage!!

Best of luck!!

I went in with the mindset that I don't have to find another job, so what do I have to lose. I put what I wanted out on the table with confidence and if they take it they take it, if they don't then I will stay where I am until I find a company that will meet my requirements. ;)

Thanks all...

Job situation has gotten ALOT better... added a few more people and though still alot of stress at times, I'm ok with that. My boss and I are on alot better terms now and its alot more relaxed. I think it was just the big move and company changes and all that put stress on everyone. I do however want to expand my horizon somewhat and find a job that allows me room for advancement. Hopefully I will... I hate to leave my fellow coworkers after so much time, but gotta do what is right for me and my family. Maybe this is the opportunity maybe it isn't. I will feel it out a bit before I make a decision.

How did it go!!!!!??1/1?///

I go drop some paper work off today, And I guess I will hear from them soon.

I'm on the edge right now, not sure what I want to do. I will sit down and weigh out all my options and go and talk to my superior and see if he can give me the motive to stay if I do indeed get the job with my demands.

Even with the extra money would you REALLY want to stay on where you are?

Well, things were a bit crazy for a while... Everything has calmed down. I'm not sure if it was all the hectic move and the company changes that caused my superior to be an ass... but he's always been very good to me before. I've had some bad times here, but the good outweights the bad thru out the last 7 years. Its a close family company and the owners are very good to me and all their other employees. The last few months I have seen a dramatic improvement in the office and in the attitude of my boss.

Therefore, I will not just jump at the first thing I get offered, I will make sure its a change I am willing to make a sacrifice for because you never know what can happen in the future.

The company I went to is a very stable company that is growing by the day. They can't hire enough people to take on half the jobs they are offered. The perks to that company are room for advancement... which I don't have now.

so ... we shall see
