This company that called me is using a consultant to find his replacement as the director of marketing/PR. We had a nice phone conversation the other day, and I took a half day off from work and went for the interview today.
First of all, it's closer than i thought. It will take around 35 minutes to get there. I can deal with that. They might be moving in 5 months, BUT, i'll worry about that when it happens, because I'm hoping by then I can suggest that I work from home 2 days a week.
The consultant told me the work facilities are pretty dismal right now, so i was expecting the worst but it wasn't bad at all. nice small offices, freshly painted, clean. the people seemed very friendly. everyone stopped and said hello and shook my hand.
I had my interview, which went great. he told me some things to make sure I say when i meet the president next week. when we finished talking (and we talked for a long time), he said that he was looking forward to meeting with me again.
Oh, and he showed me around the facilities- the IT guy stopped and asked if I would be working there and introduced himself. I said, "hopefully" and smiled and the consultant said, "well she's not here YET, but she'll be meeting with Tom (or something) next week".
good sign.

OH, and it pays somewhere over $14,000 a year than i make now.
