interview, part 2. or 3. whatever.

stilleto

ELITE MENTOR
EF VIP
This company that called me is using a consultant to find his replacement as the director of marketing/PR. We had a nice phone conversation the other day, and I took a half day off from work and went for the interview today.

First of all, it's closer than i thought. It will take around 35 minutes to get there. I can deal with that. They might be moving in 5 months, BUT, i'll worry about that when it happens, because I'm hoping by then I can suggest that I work from home 2 days a week.

The consultant told me the work facilities are pretty dismal right now, so i was expecting the worst but it wasn't bad at all. nice small offices, freshly painted, clean. the people seemed very friendly. everyone stopped and said hello and shook my hand.

I had my interview, which went great. he told me some things to make sure I say when i meet the president next week. when we finished talking (and we talked for a long time), he said that he was looking forward to meeting with me again.

Oh, and he showed me around the facilities- the IT guy stopped and asked if I would be working there and introduced himself. I said, "hopefully" and smiled and the consultant said, "well she's not here YET, but she'll be meeting with Tom (or something) next week".

good sign.
:)

OH, and it pays somewhere over $14,000 a year than i make now. :)

that sounds great! does the job sound fun and interesting?

actually, it does.
I'd be the marketing director- in charge of advertising, tradeshows, public relations, print material, promotions, etc.

It's still a small company though, but they've been around for 8 years and growing (on their website it looks like they have 9 job openings), so even though i'd be the director, I wouldn't have anyone under me. He said I'd be on the management team, but wouldn't need to be involved with any critical business decisions (GOOD).

hopefully, there's some other perks like a free computer and other geeky stuffs.

i wore nice black slacks, a black jacket, and a sleaveless blouse under it that looks really pretty- cream colored, reddish pink flowers with a black outline, a thin ribbon under the boobage with a small bow.

and... matching friggin' heels. yeah.

thank you!
i feel really good about it. It will definitely be nice to have a good paycheck and a title. my company right now doesn't have titles. it seems like such a minor thing, but for them it means they can move you to shipping instead of firing you, hire someone over you without you realizing it, and pay you less.
