Interpretation/decoding of dreams

I have some crazy weird/sad/erotic/happy/fun/and some that really are so scattered that I have no Idea how to classify them.

I, in the past, would write my dreams down if they woke me up or right when I woke up to remember later what they were. I'd write down colors and different people, sites, animals, landmarks that were in them.

What is in a dream? I've read up on it, and I feel it is you subconcious at work, or something that has happened in your past that has marked you some way. Most of the time my dreams have no faces but distinct characteristics of people who i know and/or close to me.

Last night I actuall woke myself screaming for my sister to come and help me while I was being attacked by three people that were injecting a toxin into me which was causing me to be paralized. Where the hell that came from? I dunno!

Just food for thought... my thought... how do you interpret, thats if you even take the time to do so.

That one means you want to hookup with a black dood named Dial_tone.

I've been a dab hand at dream interpretation for years and have observed that dreams come of several basic types:

1. Fantasies. Bear in mind, not all fantasies are pleasant and can be nightmares. They are, essentially, the brain going on flights of fancy working with material that has been taking up a lot of its time and giving it a lot of food for thought, so to speak. Often these can be influenced by recent activities/movies or books that have been consuming a lot of your interest or time recently.

2. Problem solvers. This is your subconscious weighing in on something in your life that is troubling you. It may not necessarily give you the answer in straightforward terms but it does often show you an answer. It's been my observation that our subconscious frequently communicates to us in symbolic language or verbal/visual plays on words.

3. Other/Spiritual. This category covers precognitive dreams, prophetic dreams, astral travel, contact with those who have passed over. These will often be dreams that are almost hyper-realistic. These dreams are almost never truly frightening, but they can have powerful emotional content.

4. Other/Physical. This includes erotica/embarrassment/general social/relationships/etc. Some of this is your brain reflecting your current hormonal state, and some of it is just normal processing of information, categorizing and storing it long term. Sleep is when our memories are solidified and neural connections made stronger.

Journaling your dreams is one key to understanding what type of dream you had. You have to learn to pay attention to patterns. Another key is to really go with your gut feeling, was it important or was it really just a fantastical weird ass piece of fluff?

Dreams are just random brain noise.

why worry so much about it? you can spend so much time in trying to find out "whats wrong" when there is actually nothing wrong. just go with it. you dont control those dreams. just let it be. focus on something you do control

A lot of it is noise, but some can be a rehash of thoughts you've had throughout the day. Memories have been shown to be stronger in individuals who have longer/more frequent periods of REM sleep.

The only ones I like are the wet ones... the other ones just wake me up for no reason. LOL...
