internet explorer 6, imesh & gnotella

i installed all 3 programs yesterday. now there is always a URL link to advertisements when i read text.


for example, say this is part of a paragraph.


i don't know what to do, i am thinking of getting rid of my credit cards and just living in the woods.


normally that sentence appears normal. however, now credit card would be underlined & linked to a site that sells credit cards.

so who put the advertisements in my computer? IE6, imesh or gnotella. imesh & gnotella are mp3 swapping programs similiar to napster.

It was part of your IMESH install. I forget the exect name of the program.

i dont know but that shit pisses me off too. it will happen to you on elite too. I think it's gotta be IE 6.0. I don't have gnotella or Imesh but the same thing happens to me.

nevermind i do have imesh, that must be it.

If you uninstall IMESH it leaves the program behind too. I think it might be the Cydor tech item in your add/remove program list.

there is no cydor in there.

there is something called 'imesh ads support' that i can't remove. even if i remove imesh i still can't remove the imesh ads support program.

Nord to get rid of it, I think I had to delete the directory under program files. It was a pain in the ass and I wouldn't reinstall Imesh because of it.

i did. i sent the folder to the recycle bin then deleted it from there. they are still there under credit card.

imesh didn't do this 4 months ago.

whats that? i have the IE6 toolbar/taskbar at the bottom of my screen.

Right click by the Top tool bar menu there will be a list of available tool bars that you can display.

actually, you have to get rid of a program called either

top text
hot text
ad text

one of them has it.

nope. i tried that. someone on usenet told me to delete one of the 3 programs i mentioned and that got rid of it.
