Plifter, Yes there are lots of men that have made it that long.
An enourmous number of people were infected when we didn't have a CLUE there even was such a disease.
Combine that with the very long incubation period before someone shows symptoms.
The ones that got infected over and over (mostly promiscuous gay male bottoms) got sick and died early in the "first wave" of death.
But lots of men kept healthy and have survived for a number of reasons.
1. Gay men in big gay meccas typically go to the gym and exercise. They started out healthier than the average couch potato.
2. Gay men that survived the first big wave of "die-offs" got into research studies and got the early HIV treatments that have helped them live longer.
3. Todays retroviral drugs almost completely eliminate the virus from the system, which lets the infected person live indeffinetly (we hope, if they don't wear off or something)
But it's not a cure. The person is still infected, and those drugs are expensive and have lots of side effects.

Mmmm I disagree on the god punishing the sexual deviants part because humans have been fucking everything that moves since the beginning of time.What do you think humans were doing when they were cavemen and marriage did not exist?
Plus if "god" wanted to punish sexual deviants then why are there little kids all over the world espec Africa getting this disease? They haven't screwed anyone so by your theory they should be immune from the disease because "God" would make sure of it.

Only in america do we not belive the truth. We always do and think whats easy. Always the easy way out. It would be HARD for the thousands of parents and freinds to deal with the FACT that gays have a much higher chance of getting HIV. So america takes the easy way and says AIDS is bad but we'll not think about who has it and why.
I can't remeber the exact verse but in the Bible it says that if a man lieth with another man he has commited an abonition and his BLOOD shall be upon him.

The AIDS / HIV statistics for America / North America are 920,000 with 45,000 new cases reported in 2000. Put that against 25.3 MILLION cases in Africa with 3.8 million new cases reported in 2000.
So does that mean that there are more gay men in Africa vs. North America? Frankly, your bigoted comments are amusing.... for it's the ones who downgrade other people that often end up getting fucked up the ass in hell for eons by a man with a barbed wire dildo.
Does it really matter where the AIDS virus came from? How would you feel if you mother, daughter or sister would get it from a blood transfusion? Better yet, shooting up. It's the small minds that breed disinformation and from your comments the word "small" is a compliment.
