Interesting ab exercises

Hi, along with arms and shoulders, I find ab exercises totally boring. I very much prefer the more tiring, compound exercises, as well as HIT cardio, for the same reason.

For last 2 months, my only ab exercise has been the front squat.

Does anyone have some interesting exercises that really target the stomach, but also get the heart rate up and are tiring (and therefore enjoyable for me).

Today I did for the first time hanging leg raises. I kinda like these as they appear challenging. When I do these, should I pull my legs to my head like a gymnast, who appear to have the best abs of all athletes. Doing this seemed to be quite tiring, and something I could incorporate in my workouts.

Are there any other interesting ab exercises. I had tried the overhead squat once, but I think my shoulders tired too much for it to be a significant ab exercise. Should I persist with the overhead squat as an ab exercise?

A. Leg raises don't work your abs. I forget all the technical reasons why, but they don't, just the lactic acid is released there.

B. Getting you tired by doing abs would mean you are working your abs to the point of endurance, thus making them smaller and less visible.

C. To answer your question, no, abs will always be boring. Find a roman chair, a 45 plate, and do 3 sets of 10 situps and be bored like the rest of us.
