Insulin

After I workout, I usually get a scoop of whey added with 2 to 3 cups of milk and I drop a shitload of chocolate syrup. Does this raise insulin by an extreme amount? (yeah i don't know too much about hormones..) I remember reading in the Practical programming book about insulin, and it says that it's highly anabolic and crucial for recovery from training. Well, if you eat more simple sugars, will it create a bigger spike?

I don't think that choc syrup will do the trick, just buy some dextrose in bulk, throw in 50-75g post workout and youre set.

Idrink mine 1/2 during workout, and 1./2 after.

Whey and milk (likely because of the whey in it) should generate a large insulin spike as it is, so you should be okay regardless of the effect of the chocolate syrup.

^^ Why do people drink sugar instead of just drinking whey then?

And I don't know anyone that drinks sugar INSTEAD of whey, they drink it in addition to whey.
