Insulin Review - reply dammit

Okay, gonna start humalog tommorrow. Here is what I shall do. I will finish my workout then speedily walk home (takes all of 2 minutes) then shoot the slin sub Q on the inside of my thigh. I then immediately take in 10g of carbs (Gatorade) per iu and like 75g of whey protein. I wait 1 hour then have a rice and tuna meal. I wait two hours after that and have another carb/protein meal. Then I am in the clear. No fats for at least 4 hours after the shot. So, I'm wondering what I should eat for the third carb/prtein meal. Any suggestions? Also, is Gatorade an okay choice for post slin shot? Oh, and since it is 100iu/ml then I only want to fill a 0.5cc syringe 1/10 of the way for 5iu's right? Thanks peeps.
 
Um, do you have any brands of protein powders that cpntain the desired amounts of isolated peptides? Also, any brands for the carbs? Why is gatorade a problem? It's cheap and they're fucking carbs dammit that get into your system fast. I am currently using Prolab's Pure Whey and Dorian Yates' brand. Sufficient?
 
I personally use Isopure as my source of WPI and Labrada V-60 as my blend. As for carbs, well I just find the cheapest sweetest juice out there. Both of your protiens are blends if I'm not mistaken, which would slow digestion down. They are top notch protiens, but a pure WPI would be the best choice during the active time of the slin!
 
Alright, I'll try and find something with pure isolates. Now, I got the carb/protein drink right afterwards and I think the carb/protein meal 1 hour after that - 2 cups brown rice and 3 tins tuna. What should I take 2 hours after that? More protein and what kind of carbs? What would you do? Just want to get this crystal so I don't die or get fat ors ome shit ya know?
 
thats about what i do. except i make a shake with about 60g protein, 5g creatine,6 teaspoons of sugar, and 10g glutamine-about 15 mins after the shot. keep some of that gatorade or dr. pepper close by-youll know if you need one.

Then how do you eat after that? How many carbs? Could you outline how you eat for the time the log is active and whether you gain fat or not. Thanks bro.
 
btw- i edited my post-i add sugar to that shake. then one hour after the shot i have a high protien high carb meal(footlong roasted chicken breast from subway is what i always eat) making sure theres no fat involved(no cheese) and the same thing at 2.5 hours after the shot. ill fee hypo before, after and inbetween the meals, but i just sip a little dr pepper or coke and will feel better immediately. when i start getting hypo- its nothing too bad just a little discomforting-light headed and a tad nauseated.
 
oh yeah-i just looked it up for the first time- those roasted chicken sandwiches i eat have around 92g carbs(footlong). i never really kept track of exactly how many carbs i was taking in, i just compensated when i started feeling low. that way i stay away from taking in too many carbs. also-avoid fat like the plague while the slin is in your system.
 
Bump or I'm not comfortable enough to start tommorrow. Just want this outlined clear as day with some meal suggestions. Can't eat tuna and rice every damn meal. I can barely get it down one meal a day as it is. Thanks again.

No offense bro but isnt that an extremely flawed way to do it? I mean you're using fructose which unless I"m mistaken will replenish liver glycogen cells first before muscle cells and is also very low gylcemic .....I think maltodextrin is the best choice, measured out precisely along with a blend of CFM whey isolate and hydrolyzed whey such as protein factory's hydrolyzed (pre-digetsted) whey 360, very low molecular weight and will digest extremely fast, 100 grams of that blend and the proper amount of maltodextrin along with a coke or two as backup.

No bro its not flawed...My choice of protien has nothing to do with my carb intake. Isopure doesnt even have carbs. I always add juice or even part of a carb force to the mix. Also I do not follow the 10:1 ratio. I push the limit because if I consume to many carbs I put on to much fat. I will say you choice from protien factory is a great choice. But besides you choice WPI is digested extremely fast too.

i have always had a carbo force which has 109g carbs and WPI at 70g protein. plus 10g creatine 10g glutamine. i drink this 15 min after 10iu of humulin R. LAWNSAVER is this a good plan or could you think of something else to add?
 
Nathan, you worry too much. It isn't all that tricky with humalog. I have use humalog for several years and I'm still real lean.
Gatoraid is not a great choice.
Humalog is a "meal-time" insulin which means the first intake of nutrients should be within 15 minutes of the injection, and can be either before or after the injection. Frackal is correct about trying to take in a variety of carbs, and not just sugars. And you need the protein at this time also. I like a combination of real squeezed OJ (16oz) with plain Isopure and a scoop each of orange endurox and cell-tech. This can be salted with malodextrin as well. The second and third meals can be chicken, tuna, wild rice, baked tator dry, raw veggies, etc. The one hour meal is the only one in which you have to be really careful about fats.
Probably more important is the dose. Humalog hits quick, so I always recommend starting with a real light dose and working up slowly until you see how you react.
Humulin-r is much harder to work with. Who has time to fuck around for 4 hours getting the nutrition right? I inject twice a day......hell, that's all I'd get done.
You'll be fine.
 
Nathan; I just started slin a week ago so take my input with that in mind. I am on low carb (about 100) and worried about fat gain. Here is how I am doing it and why. By the time I drive home and inject and wait for it to 'kick' I am pushing the window of opportunity for post WO nutrition. If I inject at the gym, it could be dangerous for me to drive (irresponsible). So I inject at the gym, ride the bike for 15 minutes with an unopened bottle carbs, but it's there if I need it. Shower up and hit my shake of dextrose/protien/creatine/glutamine. I get my cardio in post workout for max fat burn and then refuel. To soon to tell how I'm doing with it but I'll know more in a month or 2. Lifts are good!
 
Does insulin have any effect on strength?

How long do you guys usually run it for?

When I start my slin, I will be useing it to bulk, any suggestions?

As you can tell I am still researching very much before I start.

It’s all cool if you use Humulog. I started 2wks ago and love it.
I only had one scare because I didn’t eat on time cause I just couldn’t get anything down after my pure Isolate shake of 75g protein, just make sure you get simple carbs in right after injection and a meal no-fat by the 30min mark with your shake (Pure Isolate protein).
My simple carbs consist of 40g Dextrose, 10g creatine, 60g Gatorade and I switch up my simple carbs every few days.
Oh ya I’m sitting at 8iu/ed as I feel very comfortable there.

Be safe, and watch your window with slin.
15min (active, simple carbs)
30min (pure Isolate shake 50-75g)
30-45min (well balanced meal with low fat)
1.5hrs (might need some more simple carbs 30g + smaller meal as I get hungry again)
2hrs (most Humulog on the way out of system)
2hrs+ (For us bulkers eat big gain big so lets go for pizza or burgers.)
Until the next injection.

How are the gains bro? I am looking to work up to 7-8IU and stay there but I have heard from some bros that 25-30IU is needed to really start seeing the effects. I am hoping that won't be the case with me because I won't go higher than 8IU, not worth it for me right now.

Alright, I might start tommorrow then. I think I got this shit down . There is some variation in what everyone is saying but I think so long as the carb drink and protein immediately post shot is done okay I should be fine. I'l have to pick up some creatine. i am thinking maybe I should hold off ont he creatine for a week or so since I want to be able to gauge fat accumulation and creatine makes me bloat. Whatcha think? Do you all find slin makes you bloat around the midsection which goes away when you stop it? i know you hold some water with slin. Thanks fellas.
 
Sorry Nathan just got in.
I might bump to 10IU/ed by the end of the week, I have noticed a slight gain in strength but mostly the mass and definition coming out.
Ya a little or more than I wanted to in regards to midsection size so I decided to change to inner thigh injections.
Creatine is a + but in regards to holding water I personally couldn’t tell ya since any water I’m holding is due to the Spectro d-bol I’m just finishing.
Just remember that around the 30-45min mark after you have had all your simple carbs, Dextrose, creatine, Gatorade….. that if you feel weird (hypo coming on) it’s because you need to eat so eat fast and good, 12” Roasted chicken from Subway is my fav.
Also Nathan I’m running slin for only 4wks.

P.S. Fro most bros running long cycles like myself I’m thinking slin would be a great way to end and have as a bridge?

It wouldnt be too bad an idea to run humalin-R in the morning for the longer acting slin effects. The humalog is perfect for post training, but i find i get better results using a combination during the day. I usually use about 12 ius. 2x a day right now but im using growth as well...
