Just saw an interesting piece on CNN tonight, at least I think it was CNN.

They are testing Insulin inhalers right now. It's in the later stages of testing, and if approved, could mean the end to taking insulin shots.

I, for one, will be in line when these things hit the black/grey market.

I saw the same show. You put the powder in the glass. It spins, turns into a gas and you inhale it.


I think it's gonna take a lot of time to enter the market.

Didn't see the CNN spot but I have seen that insulin inhaler as well as many asthma inhalers, both beta agonists and corticosteroids (NOT anabolic). The insulin powder gets blasted into a very fine powder aerosol. The particles are small enough to make it to the most distant parts of the lungs (alveoli) where they get absorbed into the bloodstream, so it's a systemic dose like intramuscular. Like all inhalers most of the dose is lost elsewhere in the airways so efficiency is bad. Don't know how it compares to efficiency of oral AS but it can't be as good as injecting. Too bad because you could, in principle, take steroid tabs and mill them into a fine dust and sub some into the proper powder-type asthma inhalers. Milling is the tough part (unless you have acces to one at work).
