I have a recurrent tendinitis (well I assume it is a tendinitis) on my shoulder (most probably rotator cuff)

So it bothers me for weeks and disappears before coming back months later

After my previous workout I smeeled something wrong and after today's workout I am now sure it is back

What should I do?

I plan to rest for a few days, NOT use anti-inflammatories but use fish oil and that's it
Maybe see my ART practitioner but he was not very useful last time I saw him for the same problem

Anything else?

I was told by a phyiscal therp that repeated icing for an entire day and anti-inflammatories is the key to resolving it. Maybe see if you can get a referral from your doc to go see one.

anti inflams are a godsend for tendonitis, I clusterbomb with 800mg ibuprofen 3 x daily when mine flares up and it's usually gone in a day or so

take that much before workouts that usually aggrivate it too, plus ice right afterwards (see if you can put your icepacks in the gym fridge, if they have one)

Now I am confused

I've heard multiple times that anti inflammatories will only mask the synmptoms/pain but won't "cure" the tendinitis (they may even slow it down)

In case I should use AI, which ones are best?
creams (like ketoprophen) or pills (ibuprofen)?

Help me guys... pleeeeeeeeease!

:(

I'm trying Ketoprofen (cream)... and will stay away from the free weights for a week

If I need the ibuprofen, I'll take it. I loved Ketoprofen when I could get it.

3 a day for 3 days
2 a day for 2 days
1 a day for 1 day

I also use lots of HOT creams, which seems to help the tendonitis for me a lot more than anything cold. You could also make you a nice pair of LONG arm sleeves out of an old VERY TIGHT sweatshirt or something.

Thanks!

I've been trying to find a heat cream with capsaicin for ages....

Where are you located at? Not the USA?

I got the EquiBlok from elitefts and works pretty good. Not FIRE pain, but close enough for government work. They always get it to me in about 14 days (which is a miracle HERE).

One bottle will last you a LONG time and while you are paying the shipping...I'd get a bottle of Jack's Blue Heat too.
