initial signs of an abcess? :(

well guys i am worried i may have my first injection related abcess...yesterday i did a shot of 400 mg (2cc) eq in my left glute. it bled a little more than usual but i didn't think much about it as i have experience this before.

today i feel unusual tenderness and soreness, especially to the touch. there is NO redness, which i am taking as a good sign, but i sort of feel a tightness at the indection site. there seems to be some nonred swelling.

i am also feeling a little queasy today but nothing serious. does this sounds like the beginning of an abcess? can you just experience a bad inject and experience these symptoms without it being an actual abcess?

i have been thinking about this a little more. it seems too soon for an abcess to develop after one day...would take a while for pus to build up enough to be painful woulnd't it? like at least a few days?

It's probably just the shot it self - trust me, if you had an 'abcess' you'd know it. Most of the other symptoms are usually unrelated or psychological - like 'feeling little queasy' etc... give it at least 72 hours before we even go into that.

thanks, this is a relief. i once had a non AAS related abcess on my finger (my doc said common with people who bite their nails) and i thought i was going to hit the roof every time i hit it against something!!!!

don't worry, this is common for new users - the imagination can take you MANY places :)

yea dont let your mind run rampant. its just the " shot " itself. like mr x said give it 72 hours or so before you think of doing something serious. happens to everbody

What brand of eq? Is it from high ba? Sometimes shooting 2cc's or 3cc's at once will cause it but it shouldnt be too bad. I have had some look like a golf ball and it was painful but it went away. Just keep the injection site clean and needles sterile.

brand is BD. i am not so new at this anymore but can't understand why this particular injection is causing such irritation/pain.

the only other time i really experienced severe soreness was my first few times injecting using Organon Sus 250 but i attributed that to the pain involved with sus. i had zero pain using QV prop but stopped using. too many injections. :o

true! frequent injects can be a bit overwhelming if your balancing career's, homelife, love life ect. its perfectly fine to stop cycle when it gets to that point. thats why fast esters have the advantage in most cases. however imo you can run prop and masteron every 3 days. so it works out to 2 shots a week kinda-sorta. try it and see!

it is three days later and thought i would post an update. yesterday, the day after i started this thread, the pain got worse. i was getting increasingly nervous i might have an abcess. had all these thoughts of having to go thru the emergency room and having to fess up to the doctor i self injected.

i woke up today and thrilled to say the pain seems to be subsiding. what a relief!

i am still perplexed why this particular injection of eq ending up causing so much soreness. it did bleed so i must have hit a vein.

something VERY similar happened to me. hurt more than usual etc. anything out of the ordinary freaked me out. my mind went nuts with possibilities. turned out ot be nothing :)

thanks, this is helpful polfa. i would lean towards B, but not exactly sure what a homorage is. will read up on it.

don't think it is the gear itself, and don't think i have scar tissue yet.

i am still sore down there but i am incredibly relieved it is not an abcess!

dont wory too much about that shit then.....also what gage you poking with and how fas tdidi you take the shot and how many ml didi you do..just curious

2cc BD EQ, 23g 1.5" (or 25, the one that comes in green package, can't remember offhand). i poke push needle in kind of slowly. i did not think this inject was any different than previous ones.

Yup Everything Sounds Ok

i am not so sure now. it is still really painful...there is sort of a hard lump there. should i be worried here? what the hell is this?

is it overtly painful, eminating heat or discolored at all? i forgot to read everything... if it was an infection i dont think it could fester in a couple of hours...

if not, when it happened to me it was just a pocket of solution that hadnt dissipated... the delts are a smaller muscle group, and dense...

bump for more help

no pats, not discolored, not emanating heat...i think this is a good sign. my ass is as white as it always is. just feel kind of like a hard lump on my glute. i thought it was better this morning (my inject was on sunday, today is wednesday) but now not so sure.

if i try to put my left foot on my right knee to tie my left shoe it is very painful...

personally i would not be concerned. but listen, infections are SERIOUS business. watch it... look for fatigue, discoloration... if you have and infection you will know it... also keep an eye on your temperature... high body temp is an indication of infection.

to those who responded to this thread thought i would share the good news that i woke up today with significantly LESS soreness and pain so turned out to be nothing. thanks again for the support my EF pals! :)
