Inflamation in Left Knee Tendon, Strain in Lower Back, Tendonitis!!

Well, the title says it all. . . .but its not keeping me from training. After 10 years of training experience, my body is a little beat down. Lately, I have been using moderate intensity.

Here was the training session for this evening:

1. Squats (moderate intensity nothing to failure)

135lbs x 8
225lbs x 8
275lbs x 8
315lbs x 8
365lbs x 8

2. Stiff Leg Deads

135lbs x 8
225lbs x 8
275lbs x 8
(strain in lower back prevented me from going higher :(!!

3. Leg Extensions (brought tears to my eyes :(. . . . )

110lbs x 8
130lbs x 8
150lbs x 8
180lbs x 8

4. Donkey Toe Raises

200lbs x 30
300lbs x 20
400lbs x 15
500lbs x 12

5. Seated Dumbbell Curls (pain in bicep tendons!!)

30lbs x 8
40lbs x 8
50lbs x 8

6. Reverse Barbell Wrist Curls

60lbs x 8
60lbs x 8
60lbs x 8

I know the weights aren't as impressive as most, but I am listening to my body. . .its worn down. Overall it was a good session and I broke a nice sweat.

Areas that need to heal:

- tendon in left knee below the knee cap
- strain in lower lumbars. . internal pain. . not intramuscular
- bicep tendons
- right rear delt/trap tie in tends to freeze up

Thankfully, none of these minor strains are affecting anything.

damn swain...thats alot of bad shit

keep your head up...your weights are still very impressive regardless of injuries

be smart

Thanks t3c,

I tried to perform some GMs the other day with 225lbs, but it wasn't happenin.

I have been drilling the hyperextensions 2 sets of 25 reps. I also didn't train biceps for a week and a half.

patellar tendon. . .I am convinced that I strained it while performing push presses.

I talked to my chiropractor and we are planning to order a device that allows the patellar tendon to heal. Thanks for the suggestions.

Which knee tendon? The one above the knee cap (quadriceps) or below the knee (patellar tendon)?

Every try adding EPA/DHA (omega 3 fatty acids) to your diet. They are natural anti-inflammatories as they inhibit both the cyclooxygenase and lipooxygenase potions of the inflammatory process. Also keep your vitamin C high - as vit C causes the production of hydroxyproline, which then creates collagen, of which tendons and ligaments are primarily made.

It seems if you are going to lift big you have to see a chiropractor at one time or another

Let's hope your body hasn't finally given up on you. Keep it up man, i did with my injuries and active recovery did it for me!

that sucks. these kinds of things take time to overcome, but i know you wont have much of a problem. nice numbers btw

You know I know the feeling. I've been a little banged up from time to time. Rest those areas and get back to training with some HUGE intensity cause you know who's knocking on your door now...ME! Seriously, take care of yourself.

One thing you can try is doing high reps for the pain areas. HST has the 15-rep sections mostly for joint health more than growth, and many say that they help tendonitis issues.
